My inbox has rarely been so insulted... patronising, sexist and ungrammatical. Wow.

"New Campaign to give Mums the confidence to get organised, save money and improve family health
"The Five Million Mums Campaign launches today with a call to challenge Five Million Mums to create Five million healthy families by embracing organising and cooking skills and passing them onto the next generation.

"The 2013 Confident Mum survey found that 1 in 3 mums says that they can?t provide healthy meals because they are not organised.

"The new survey of 1,132 Mums across the UK and Ireland reveals that while all Mums know the importance of healthy meals, and most can cook a meal from scratch using fresh ingredients, 1 in 3 have replaced the amount of fresh vegetables and fruit they buy with unhealthy, ?cheap?, processed foods in order to combat rising food prices. Supermarket ?deals? encouraging multi-buy are leading 1 in 2 Mums to admit to wasting more food than they would like, and not getting the intended savings they needed.

"Sian Breslin, home economist and the driving force behind the Five Million Mums Campaign explains that this down to a lack of simple organisation skills in the kitchen. She said, ?I?m not surprised by these figures. Rising trends in poor health is no longer a cooking ability issue, nor is it down to a lack of health education. With the 21st Century Mum being busier than ever before, and with supermarkets and food brands influencing our every food decision, Mums need to be more organised in the kitchen. The alternative is unhealthy, processed, convenience foods and poor family health. We have to take action now to combat the rising epidemic in family obesity, diabetes, and diet related disease. Five Million Mums is aimed at giving Mums the confidence to take the lead and get organised in the kitchen?.

"On an optimistic note the survey, conducted in partnership with My Family Club and Mummy Pages, reveal that 8 in 10 families do eat together, at least 3 times a week! So contrary to popular myth, the family dinner remains a cornerstone for many families.

"The Five Million Mums Campaign launches today with a call to challenge Five Million Mums to create Five million healthy families by embracing organising and cooking skills and passing them onto the next generation. The campaign embraces technology believing that modern Mums can make use of it to organise their kitchen. This makes meal planning and organising skills, which our mums and grannies did so well, really relevant to todays Mums.

Cooper yeah I was just on and noticed that. However I think I will send my views anyway minus swear words just to see how she's tries to justify such patronising sexist shit oh and also use of pathetic sample size. Rant over. Cheers for lols too everyone btw.

Tubemole1 · 15/05/2013 20:37

I have tweeted this Sian and told her she's incited sexist hatred. She hasn't replied.

edam · 15/05/2013 20:38

Been busy at work (clearly am bad 'Mum') so haven't had a chance to check back here - am v. happy MN has been having such a field day. Arf at pasta in the dishwasher.

I did call in at the supermarket on the way home though and bought some cucumber, tomatoes, onions and pasta - do you think social services will refrain from administering a public whipping for my failures as a 'Mum'?

BasilBabyEater · 15/05/2013 20:42

Off to the far side of fuck with her.

Ruffello · 15/05/2013 20:45

Are Five Million Mums related to the Christian, anti- gay, anti- abortion One Million Mums group?

sallysourire · 15/05/2013 20:55

Haven't read every response yet as I was so anxious to say

FUCK OFF - so bloody patronising it makes my blood boil Angry

Now I've got that off my chest I can go back and read calmly Blush

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 15/05/2013 20:58

I love the use of the inverted commas around "cheap" - as if poverty was something people were making up as an excuse not to cook.

sallysourire · 15/05/2013 21:00

I now wish I used twitter.

Willowisp "mums AND dads" Exactly!!

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/05/2013 21:01

Can we just call it 5 million cunts?

5 million cuntish women say fuck this for a game of soldiers and give their children the food budget to spend on rustler burgers and pop. Because the buck stops with feckless mothers of course,

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/05/2013 21:02

WHERE is valpolicella or Olivia mumsnet with the floral fuck offs?

lisaro · 15/05/2013 21:04

She'd have sold this useful thing to me if it included a piccy of a cute, fluffy wuffy kitten.

MadBusLady · 15/05/2013 21:04

Let's make t-shirts. "5 million cunts rising".

Hassled · 15/05/2013 21:06

'5 million cuntish women say fuck this for a game of soldiers' :o

stiffstink · 15/05/2013 21:28

I am enraged by the bit that says "even my three sons didn't escape the merits of being organised in the kitchen."

Why the fudge should your boys NOT step into the kitchen? I genuinely hope that its a joke. I am amazed that some women still think like this.

Anyway, I am really quite tired, what with having to dash around with the Eubank before warming my husband's slippers.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/05/2013 21:29

Lol at Eubank

WilsonFrickett · 15/05/2013 22:01

My new kitchen comes in 2 weeks. I am going to be very organised in it. I am not, however going to be cooking any meals. That's DH's job.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 16/05/2013 06:25

Sian-splaining, yes, exactly.

delboysfileofax · 16/05/2013 06:31

What the actual fuck? I'm a Dad and I'm just as responsible for feeding my son as his mum (we cook on alternate days pretty much) If he ate a diet of wagon wheels and tizer that's just as much my fault (prob more as I get the shopping)

delboysfileofax · 16/05/2013 06:31

Fuck- just seen this is on FWR! I'll be on my way!

StealthOfficialCrispTester · 16/05/2013 06:33

Sample size in itself is not a problem btw

Numberlock · 16/05/2013 06:40

I bet it's the single 'mums' causing most of the problems...

OhTinky · 16/05/2013 06:45

Fucks sake. I could spend that fiver for the meal plan app on fresh veg for my hungry child. Will no-one think of the children?

Numberlock · 16/05/2013 07:01

The problem is that you won't though will you? You'll just give it a turkey twizzler while you swig your WKD.

TheHerringScreams · 16/05/2013 07:15

I can't believe Sian is that....dated? Sian-splaining says it all.

MrsWembley · 16/05/2013 08:11

Grin @ delboy.

Just you being angry enough to post here says it all...
