the labour force in the east is dramaticaly different to here in europe, in india women work in construction, doing the carrying heavy loads to the dump truck or moveing materials arouynd for the tradesmen, what we call a labourer here in europe. it's the hardest physical job on any site and the lest rewarding mentaly. i have to admit it suprised me to whitness it.
in vietnam men are allmost expected to have leisure, makes me wonder how any men make it to positions of goverment. women emptey refuse bins manage shops aswell as the back-breaking work in the paddy fields , they have all the sides effects femminism may bring to western women without the benifits , the men just laze about all day.
in cambodia a woman took a cigarette from me while she chatted with my wife , she took it smiling, no problem there , until a native guy strolled along and she hid it. she was working at a shrine , i doubt he had a job attall still she was afraid of what he might think of her smoking.
in thailand and malaisia it seems women spend most of their time shopping, and this passtime is made very much of , like it's part of the national pride, new wealth , and they like to spend it. this applys to the 'haves' only of course.
