im on my phone so can't link butwas driving and heard an ad on the radio for the Belfast telegraph. I'm hoping some of you can link and if not I will get the Paper later and scan it in.

Can you tell from looking at a woman how many sexual partners she has had. Who has slept with only one man who is saving herself and who has had 15 partners.

What do you think?

Commented then shared it on my facebook. Might go harass the BT's page now.

(Having read the patronising shit properly, I am now Very Cross as opposed to the Quite Rankled I was earlier!)

How do I comment?

I'm sending them a message on FB - what do you think of this?

Contacting to express my disgust at the article you ran yesterday: www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/woman/sex-love/how-many-sexual-partners-should-a-woman-have-had-16152412.html?ino=2#wcol

Not only exceptionally biased towards religion, also misogynistic, sexist and infuriatingly simplistic.

The stereotyping is laughable. It's voyeuristic, titillating "non news."

As to the religious angle - Christianity is in large part responsible for the ridiculous whore/ madonna complex so many women are battling. Do you know what? Women are allowed to enjoy sex (GASPS OF HORROR!) What's more, they are not property to be "saved" for a handover from one man (father) to the next (husband.) There is nothing dirty, shameful or disgusting about consensual sex between two adults, whatever their gender or marital status.

WDYT?

This is fucking disgusting. Its 2012 FFS. And men will be reading it. Its a subliminal, no a direct message that women are property not people.
This is why i turned my back on the church (though i was brought up catholic ) when i was 19 never to return.

hathorkicksass · 01/05/2012 17:09

I'm so glad you all agree - I actually thought I might be over-reacting a bit when I heard the ad on the radio yesterday. But the article has made me so so angry.

If you send a letter to the editor it will be seen. They won't pay much attention to comments from the internet.

You get all sorts of nutters posting. Grin

This doesn't come as any suprise to me, over recent years there has been a push in Ireland to implement the laws Sweden has as part of their drive to abolish prostitution in Ireland. All part of controlling women and how they conduct themselves sexually.
Most disgusting is part of the funding has come from those who were responsible for the Magdeleine Laundries, responsible for the enslavement and rape of thousands of Irish women for decades.

Nyac · 03/05/2012 10:17

Paying women for sex is controlling women.

The Swedish laws are about controlling men's destructive sexual behaviour. Prostituted people are decriminalised in Sweden. Nobody is stopping them having sex with anybody.
