Sexism on CBBC

I supervise my DC's TV viewing quite carefully because I worry about media portrayal of women and the way in which society is presented in general. I hate advertising so we tend to stick to CBeebies/CBBC/laptop. I turned on CBBC this morning, thinking state-subsidised broadcaster, high ethical standards, etc. So imagine my horror when their Young Dracula programme was introduced with the presenter promising "not to scream like a girl" Hmm

Have just emailed a complaint.

Stop watching ITV - it's their fault not BBC's. Why should they accept responsibility for something ITV do? Confused

Isn't it up to the channel themselves to decide what to show?

So the no sexist apology was that the presenter was being self depreciating but saying about creaming like a girl.... riiiiiiiiiiiight.Hmm

Why not scream like a baby? Scream like a cat?

And Greg James starcaller theme tune on radio one say popstar, filmsrat, pornstar...he's on in the afternoon ffs.

"creaming like a girl" Grin Sorry, I know it's childish and adds nothing to the conversation, but I did laugh at that.

I kind of got your point about kids tv presenters, but the rest of it? I haven't a clue what you're on about, it's just seems like random sentences.
