I can't work out why more people don't ignore them, but every now and then the exchanges are unintentionally funny or interesting - although mostly it gets very dull very quickly. Wondering what's in it for them too.

I loved FromGirders post. You asked were all the deletions serious infringements of MN rules ? As someone who had a lot deleted, I guess I am biased, but no they were not. Of course I cannot prove it now, but anyone who was there in real time will have made their own mind up.

This is one of the reasons why I don't really agree with deleting posts after post. People who come along later are given the impression that some posters are being wilfully nasty, when in actual fact they are reacting in frustration to yet another post that directs the subject to an individual's problems with MN Feminists and MN posters in general. Really, those posters are entitled to an opinion, but say it once and let the conversation flow along. That would be the polite thing to do, and likely to not get people riled at you. Unless you are deliberately riling, in which case, we are all wasting our precious time, aren't we ?

I think pretty much all the deleted posts were because we were calling Bob and Ed trolls or insinuating that they are.

Sorry to be picky but babyheave forgot to include the 20mph drivers shouting 'absolute scum' at us out of their windows. (not the nice finding their way 20mph drivers of course).

Talking of deletions, do we get notified if a post of ours is deleted?

The deletions are riling members at the moment even more, as we have genuine concerns about at least 2 users, yet we're the ones being silenced. There's a certain irony to that... I mean, men would never silence women, would they... But y'know.

Seems we're not allowed to call a spade a spade here...

I'm now curious as to whether I've ever been deleted... But can't be arsed to trawl through the threads where I think I may have been...

I once had a post deleted because I slandered Tracy Hogg the Baby Whisperer - I still think I was right and that MNHQ were wrong.

Well I have crumbled my deletion biscuit on this thread. I have never been deleted before on MN. In fact I was boasting about it the other day. Pride comes before a fall and all that.

I think my post where I told edd to fuck off has remained unscathed by the mighty MN deletion sword.

I'm annoyed my 'kingdom on the feminist section' joke was an unwitting victim to a 'you are a troll' post.

Also disappointed that the passive aggressive smiley/you are a troll thing me and StayFrosty were doing fine work with had to go (for understandable reasons).

I'm just going to have to make a list of ways to get deleted... I feel like I should be relegated to Feminist Newbies for the lack of deletions.

AnyFucker - from what people have said on this thread, I do suspect the deletions were for "troll-hunting" rather than personal attacks . . . I just wanted to publicly raise my concerns with MNHQ. I may have to send an e-mail too . . .
Because you're right, coming along and reading later, it looks like those-of-you-with-lots-of-deletions have been spewing vitriol and bile - that is largely what concerns me, along with the fact that your rebuttals no longer stand.
