. . . is it a personal thing (actually engaging emotionally) or are you communicating with a wider, more silent audience or are there other motivations?

I can't work out why more people don't ignore them, but every now and then the exchanges are unintentionally funny or interesting - although mostly it gets very dull very quickly. Wondering what's in it for them too.

If the evidence of this thread is anything to go by, I can't help but reply that with "believers" like you and Edd, Bob, the MN feminist section has no need of enemies.

BTW; does anyone else think "believing" is a funny term to use about feminist suggesting as it does parallels with religion and the need of faith to aid understanding? As far as I understand it, feminism has no god needing to be appeased nor is it something that has to be taken on faith because its arguments are not easily proven by simple observation of daily life. No dig at religion intended, rather just a query about whether a political movement can be said to have believers.

KellyKettle · 06/09/2011 06:52

Most people posting in this section are women Bob, not girls. Just saying.

solidgoldbrass · 06/09/2011 08:17

Absolute classic NiceGuyTM there Bobbie!

BecauseImWorthIt · 06/09/2011 08:19

I really object to being described as 'absolute scum', Bob, and I have chosen to take that quite personally.

edd1337 · 06/09/2011 08:29

Bob, it is their own undoing

Certain radfems wonder why some people including women don't take them seriously, but don't realise that their behaviour is completely self-defeating what they stand for

The fact they are willing to throw a woman under the bus like so, is rather shocking. Take this scenario: Woman goes to a DV shelter where feminists work, she doesn't agree on some of their views and she gets thrown out and is denied help? It seems to be heading that way

With you on that BIWI.

I don't think we should report those posts. I don't think they should be deleted. People need to see the sort of crap we are having to put up with in the feminist section.

I call (again) for this poster to be banned and for there to be changes made to the feminist section.

Quite frankly at the moment we don't have any choice other than to be suspicious of anyone who is not a regular - particularly if the poster name suggests the nonregular is a man.

The reason for this? Not because we discriminate against men in the feminist section - but because so many of them behave disgracefully.

If it leads to a ban, great

It won't though

AnyFucker · 06/09/2011 08:44

I shan't waste another few hours of my life engaging with these fuckwits.

Lesson learned for me. Utterly pointless.

edd1337 · 06/09/2011 08:45

Ah Beach? Why abuse the report feature? I think that should be bannable in itself

This also proves your lust for censorship to anyone with a different opinion
