The thread is apparently to big for anymore posts lol

Original thread here

I want to make sure there is a thread for the outcome of the trial so that people can post what they think about the outcome and also to continue debate that was ongoing in the op. Grin

Just wanted to post that I am SO PLEASED the judge stated unequivocally that what Assange has been accused of would be regarded as a crime in the UK. there's been far too much quibbling about this - too many people trying to draw lines between (to use the Whoopi Goldberg terminology) "rape" and "rape rape". To have a judge confirm that having sex with a woman while she's asleep would definitely count as rape is a really positive thing. Do we think there's any chance that some people will be forced to re-evaluate their behaviour as a result?

I was also pleased that Assange's lawyer got criticised for misleading the court. I had hoped it was for the ridiculous attempt to smear the Swedish prosecutor as such an evil man-hating feminist that he couldn't possibly get a fair trial, but the fact that he's all but been publicly called a liar will do for me......

ah, yes, the honeytrap. the many happy nights we have all spent entrapping innocent men with our womanly wiles, then after enwrapping them in cliches, regretting our lax behaviour in the morning and running giggling with our friends to the police to accuse another working-class hero of rape. those poor boys. mark stephenson is surely one of our most tireless fighters for human rights...but are we grateful? no because we are too busy manhating.
