Why oh why are all the women at DH's work dressed as 'sexy witches'

Gosh, it's so annoying. They're all like vamps, tiny skirts, low cut tops, sexy make up....Men dressed as fully clothed, fully covered halloween things.

Also I went to Tesco to buy a few costumes and all witches stuff for girls (little girls) was corset effect or lacy.

grrrr.

And why oh why are emails being sent round with photos of 'the event girls' in provocative (dipped heads, pouty lips,) poses.

It's an events and publishing house, about four years ago they sent round an email in which two girls (straight girls) kissed eachother and rubbed their breast (their own) in a lift.

If it didn't pay so well he would be told (by me) to leave.

But isn't it the girls right to dress as sexy witches - I doubt they were made to do so

I used to work there 10 years ago and whilst you had to be quite brash/hard it certainly wasn't a place where women joined in with the sexist shite. I would have to be super sharp to fend off the sexist crap. When my team won a night a Spearmint Rhino I got them to buy me a weekend in Dublin, for example.

It is their right to dress how they please, just a bit sad that sexy fancy dress is always the default for women. Sexy nurse, sexy witch, sexy vampire, sexy police woman etc.

That's great Posie - he's obviously been listening to you (or reading your books when you're not around).

I think it's more of an american trend to be dressed as something "sexy" for halloween - most adult females in the UK are surely more likely to be a zombie or a normal witch or a skeleton or something?

I disagree EvilAnts - in America I think people are far more likely to be in full-body bumblebee costumes, or dressed as Obama, or Buzz Lightyear, whereas in the UK the dressing up is restricted to more 'Halloweeny' things (Vampires, Witches, Zombies). 'Sexyness' depends on whether you are aged 18-25 and feel the pressure to be sexy even when in fancy dress.

(actuall I am over 25 and going to a party dressed as Madonna tonight so I can't really comment - although I promise my hair will be really really stupid)

I was in Office today looking at shoes and all the staff were dressed in costumes.

There were 3 female staff members: one sexy cat, one sexy pirate and one French maid. The sole male staff member was wearing a toga. He had bare legs, the females were wearing tights, so I suppose out of the 4 of them he was showing the most flesh.

In a similar vein, is anyone watching the X Factor (watching for DH honest guv Wink)?
What is it with the backing dancers for Wagner week on week? Can they put some bloody clothes on the women please? It's really pissing me off that each week he has semi naked women gyrating around - I bet the ones in the full length skeleton costumes tonight were men!

I'm watching X Factor (shamelessly!)

I also thought that about Wagner's backing dancers. Tbh, if they take the attention away from his inability to sing then I think they are there for a good purpose!

I went to my DSis's house party last night as a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz, DH went as a severely bloodied and yucky zombie. However I did manage to make it a kind of burlesque monkey with a brocade corset and a little pillbox hat... I love dressing up and never get to go out with DH so a sexy (ish!) costume was what I felt like going for.
I did manage to unnerve a few people by poking them in the back with the end of my monkey tail, which was the size and shape of a willy though not the colour!
