Why oh why are all the women at DH's work dressed as 'sexy witches'

Gosh, it's so annoying. They're all like vamps, tiny skirts, low cut tops, sexy make up....Men dressed as fully clothed, fully covered halloween things.

Also I went to Tesco to buy a few costumes and all witches stuff for girls (little girls) was corset effect or lacy.

grrrr.

A friend of mine lives in the US and dreads Halloween as she says it's an excuse for women to dress like sluts (her words not mine). It annoys me that women collude with this crap. Yes it's their right to do so. I just wish they'd exercise those rights a little more constructively.

I work in a school and on our last fancy dress day the majority of female pupils were dressed as sexy versions if fairy tale characters. I felt quite depressed.

I worked in a pub once where we all had to dress up for Halloween. All the girls agreed to dress up at witches and I duely arrived with green face, warty nose, blacked out teeth talon fingernails and spiders.

ALL the other girls were essentially wearing underwear and a pointy hat.

I felt a bit of a wally.

And I had no excuse. The previous fancy dress had been a pyjama party, to which I wore a big pair of checked pyjamas, a wee willy winky hat and some fluffy bunny slippers. WRONG. Everyone else was in babydoll pjs, satin slips and fluffy mules.

This kind of dressing up is all such shite. It reminds me of the 'Back to School' crap when I went to University. I wore my actual old school dress: calf-length with lime green stripes and a money belt. Surrounded by agahst Britney Spears-alikes.

Same here Yuno - went to a Halloween party with a mate many years ago. I was the Blair Witch Project (black extremely NON-sexy witch outfit, photo of Tony Blair - hilarious, non?) and my friend was Carrie from the horror film (fake blood).

Every other woman in the place was a sexy devil, sexy witch etc (like you say, underwear with horns or pointy hat).

Double sigh.

We live somewhere with a huge number of students, and you should see the fancy dress on display, every night of the year nowadays too. The vast, vast majority of the girls wear next to nothing, you can't be a bumble bee you've got to be a SEXY bumble bee ffs. Grrr!
