Anyone had the pleasures of endometrial ablation?

I'm praying this will put an end to my horrendously heavy periods. Has anyone had this and seen an improvement? My consultant said for some people it does nothing, for some it stops bleeding altogether.

@Armyofprawns my periods are almost non existent now, almost 2.5 years on...however, I do still get pain. I've actually worked out that I get these awful pains when im getting close to needing to poop, at that time of the month. It can literally take my breath away and I double over. I had it last week, very very light spotting only. I dont have any toilet related pain at any other time.

a friend of mine it was absolutely life changing. she used to have horrific endometriosis and heavy bleeds with lots of pain.
she ended up in hospital on Morphine, and that's when her parents decided to get it done privately, as every single month it was disrupting her life.

it was like a new reproductive system for her. she still had periods, but normal ones, until she started getting DP, which stopped them. but it made a huge difference to her being able to live a normal life again. it was when she was back at Uni, and she's in her early to mid 40s now with no issues anymore.

Yes Renee Behrens at Sarum Road in Winchester is fantastic. I had it done today having had previous surgery with her. She said the op was very successful so only time will tell now.

Hello there
I’m reading these success stories and think that an ablation is the right way to go.
Can any of you recommend a surgeon in the Hampshire area? Or those of you who know of a good surgeon as I am hoping a procedure like this will change my life for the better too.

Renee Behrens is fantastic. I saw her privately at Sarum Road in Winchester but she operates under the NHS too. Had my ablation done today and told it went as good as it could have gone so time will tell now.

Hi. Just wondering if your periods have improved at all, several more months on?

I've been in tranexamic acid which worked amazingly and showed me what normal periods are like, for a while. And am now running to the toilet in the night again for a midnight bathroom clean after the mess.

I'd love an ablation but I have PTSD and think I could manage an ablation but the thought of lots of procedures or complications scares me.
