Hi... those who have had laporoscopy...(possible adhesions or endo) how long was your stay in the hospital?

OP very few people stay in hospital for days now. Even with planned surgery, people are discharged the same day or sometimes the day after.

A laparoscopy is definitely day surgery, so you needn't worry about being away from your children. You'll need someone to look after them for the next 24 hours though, while you get over the anaesthetic.

Theyre just so attached to me dont know how they'll cope if I'm not with them. Obviously their dad will be off work and possibly my mom will come around but still they only look for me you know
And worried..cause my luck.. giving birth to both of them, everyone else discharged so fast, i was always there for daaaays 😂

Ive been in fpr 7.30 and out for 2 and in at 2.20 and out about 9pm. Cant remember the middle one but was definitely out the same day after a few hours.

Octavia64 · 26/03/2024 14:39

It was day surgery for me.

In at I think 8. Picked up anytime after 3 but actually at 5

ZuliKyanLarsFoz · 26/03/2024 14:40

I was expecting to be a day case but they kept me overnight. I think this was standard for this hospital as I didn't have any complications and was out of surgery by lunchtime.

Somerandomgirl · 26/03/2024 14:42

Thank youuuu
I'm booked for 11:30 😣 gives me whole morning to panic 😂(hope they dont cancel it tho!)

Completely understand your worries here - they're very valid. I planned funeral songs and everything.

I was warned I would be there all day but I think they do the easy surgeries first as I was called in within the hour, apparently under for 15-30 mins. I then sat and stared at the ceiling light for an hour, 2 at most (and was very happy to do so) while they checked me over a few times and was free to waddle off.

It really won't be bad at all if it's just the laparoscopy and you'll laugh at how much you worried. Hangovers are much much worse.

Wishing you the best Flowers

Do you not have to be there at the crack of dawn and just wait around? Interesting 🤨

Redannie118 · 26/03/2024 14:45

I'm having a laproscopic hysterectomy with stage 4 endo on Thursday and I'm due home the following morning at 7.30 am. They really prefer to get everyone home as quickly as possible now.

I was in surgery for 9am and got out about 5pm-ish because I kept being sick - I’m always sick after a general anaesthetic though. They said beforehand if I had been booked in for the afternoon that I would prob be kept in overnight.

Hope it goes well!

No not everyone is crack of dawn. I was in at 11:30, went down 13:30 purely got an early time because I'm diabetic and discharged between 5 and 6pm.
Women's surgery on a day unit with loads of ENT'ers.

One lady on the support group said she didn't make it to theatre until 7pm and still got discharged at past 10pm.

GG1986 · 28/03/2024 21:31

I think I was in at 11.30am and left at 6.30/7pm the same day, I was only there a bit later than normal as I couldn't do a wee and you have to pass urine before you leave apparently.

FindingMeno · 28/03/2024 21:58

I was meant to be a day case but my blood pressure was too low afterwards so I had to stay in overnight.

Whatever you normally wear. It's just to cover you over a hospital gown
