Can anyone please help, I'm pregnant and due in 11 weeks and I have really bad bum grape and I'm worried it will turn into a hemroid, I've been in pain with it for 3 days and I'm using the anusol cream but it doesn't seem to be getting better, it's hurts that much it takes my breath away and is making me cry, can anyone help or suggest anything that I should do? Thank you 😊

I had a terrible issue with piles post birth (thankfully given I didn't have to contend with other pregnancy issues too), would second the witch Hazel wipes (think they are American but I bought off Amazon) which definitely helped together with Anusol. They were absolutely excruciating though so you have my sympathy! X

Pink Spots, AnnaMagnani is right, a laxative will mean you won't have to push when you poo, the worst thing would be to get constipated. Get some Lactulose or similar from the chemist. Meanwhile keep using sitz baths and use some gel ice packs to help reduce the piles. I would get a telephone appointment with your G. P as soon as you can, don't wait because you're self isolating, you can still speak on the phone.

Thank you! Everything that has been said I've tried and tried and tried but honestly nothing works! I'm inconstant tears and screaming pain I just feel like I'm always getting palmed of from my GP like a scale of one to ten off them hurting is 100% an eleven! They hurt more this time than they did when I had them 7 weeks ago! I can't sit in a bath as it's it's bigger than my bum so the pain is there as soon as I get in the bath! I just want this all to be over! I'm never getting pregnant again! X

Have you looked at it? How big is the thing coming out? I think while hemorrhoids are really painful this doesn't sound normal.
Is there a chance this is a prolapse??
If you're genuinely in agony go to A&E (if you test negative at home) a professional needs to look at your butt and see what is going on here.

Seaoftroubles · 07/07/2021 22:10

You poor soul, l really feel for you as l have experienced this and it is excruciating. I still think you need to speak to your G.P and explain how much pain you're in. Stress the impact on your mental health! Meanwhile have you got a sitz bath? If not, do a search and you will see it's a shallow container that fits onto your loo so that you can bathe and soothe the affected area without putting pressure on it. ( Sorry if you've already got one but wasn't sure.)

Hi, yes I've looked at them and they are hanging out the one that hurts the most is one that's connected to another! I don't even need to be moving and just lying there it is still burning/stinging! X

Going to try and ring my doctors later on and see what they say! No one should be left in this much pain! Pregnant or not! I've also decided to go for a c section as may sound daft but I think it will be less painful in the long run! I'm to scared to push with all this hemroids hanging out of my bum :( I also orders one of the sitz baths early this morning so fingers crossed that helps soothe a little x

I feel your pain, I had them bad for years n got worse when I was pregnant with my twins. Mine got so bad it made me depressed and I had one which was constantly sticking out. Only thing I can say is try cream and suppositories. If that fails see if you can get them banded. I got mine banded and that was the only thing that got rid of them. I still sometimes have issues but nothing like before. Hope this helps

Seaoftroubles · 08/07/2021 09:32

Pink Spots, good that you've ordered the sitz bath, it should give you some relief. I do understand your decision re the C section, but please do speak to your G.P and explain that lack of pain relief for the prolapsed piles is forcing you to make this choice.

Seaoftroubles · 08/07/2021 09:40

cha027 l was interested to read about your banding- did that include the external pile as l've always been told it can only be done for internal piles? (And still have issues with external ones many years later. )

cha027 · 08/07/2021 09:49

Seaoftroubles ah yes most of mine were internal, I had one on edge that got very bad n doubled in size always sticking out bigger than a pea size, did try band but failed but after a while of no straining, and creaming it went down in size small (thank god, thought I'd need surgery) . That one I still have but doesn't hurt or bother me much now and again it's uncomfortable . I pop it back in but it's nothing compared to all the issues I had before with them

TheBrynGhost · 08/07/2021 09:58

If you get blood it might be an anal fissure? It's like shitting broken glass and the only thing that got mine to heal was washing it with dilute antifungal dog shampoo. That healed it after two weeks when I had had it almost three years!

If it's a fissure cortisone is the worst thing for it as it will stop it healing.

Seaoftroubles · 08/07/2021 10:57

Cha027 thank you, that makes sense, mine are external and also involved is a large skin tag which is the remains of prolapsed pile which l got during my second pregnancy many years ago (big baby! ) l've put off surgery forever as the post op pain is said to be so bad.

DinosaurDiana · 08/07/2021 10:59

When I had a fissure I was given GTN cream which was a miracle worker.

No and I'm in isolation till Tuesday! I've rang the doctors and they have given me some steroid cream to see if that works, if no better by over the weekend then she said to phone back again x

DinosaurDiana · 08/07/2021 16:23

Poor you, I know how it feels. Mine were bad recently and the only thing that worked was religiously putting the cream on 3 times a day. They are so slow to heal !

Seaoftroubles · 08/07/2021 16:47

PinkSpots, Glad you got to speak to the Dr. Hope the steroid cream helps...Which cream were you given? If you're still in pain on Tues l would ask for an in person appointment so the Dr can examine you and rule out a fissure. Fingers crossed your Sitz bath bath arrives quickly too so you can get a bit of relief there!

Hi I'm not 100% sure! But I'll be opting for a c section as it's the second time I've had them now! I can't get my cream till tomorrow as they have messed it up at the doctors x

If you can get a section then absolutely do OP. Having had to go through labour with very bad piles I can honestly say in comparison my section the next time was a breeze.

I'm so sorry you're suffering again, I remember it well it was absolute agony. As was mentioned earlier as soon as you're safe to be seen you need to insist that you get a gp to take a look or failing that I've read on here of people going to A&E or minor injuries before.

If you're not taking paracetamol and ibuprofen then do. I used to take the red Anadin liquid capsules, but that was after the birth so you'll need to check that you're alright to when you're pregnant.

The only comfort I can give you is that if the pain is from a blood clot in one of them then it does ease after a few days when the clot goes, so this stabbing feeling shouldn't go on forever.

ForeverSinging · 11/07/2021 12:02

How are you doing?

The best thing I've found for piles is uniroid HC ointment on prescription. I used it in my pregnancy. My baby was fine, she's now 4 and fabulous.

PinkSpots1994 · 30/07/2021 14:43

Okay so update - I ended up having my little boy 3 weeks ago on the 9th due to complications but I did originally go in to hospital as my hemroids were really bad and there was a lot of blood.

Now I need your help again! 3 weeks on and I still have them and the midwife said that the doctors won't do anything unless our family is fully completed! I can assure it 100% is!

I can not keep coping with this pain I have one on one side and one on another so when I go to the toilet it's so painful! I also feel like I can't enjoy my little boy as well as I would like!

I also had an emergency c-section as well so I have the pain of that still!

What can I do to make the doctors do something as this is really interfering with my mental health and I struggled with depression and anxiety before I was pregnant and I feel like it's coming back all over again. Xx

Firstly huge congratulations on your little one!

You absolutely need to speak to your GP. Midwives are great of course, but she's not going to be able to get you referred like a GP can, and she can't speak for them so you need to get back in touch with your practice and say everything again that you have to us. You shouldn't have to, but do keep on at them and if necessary ask to see another GP. It was only when mine were seen that my doctor tried to get me seen at the hospital as he was horrified at what a mess they were (baby was still a bump so hospital wouldn't touch me). Also don't be tempted to be out and about, walking makes them worse, so rest with your feet up if at all possible, and keep your painkillers topped up even when you feel its manageable.

I'll be absolutely honest the reason why our last baby remained our last was because I couldn't cope with the pain of piles again.

Seaoftroubles · 30/07/2021 21:06

@PinkSpots1994 Congratulations on the arrival of your little boy!
Sorry to hear you are still suffering but as Haveyoubrushedyourteeth says you do need to speak to your G. P. and insist on a referral. Now your baby is here you can definitely request the stronger steroid cream mentioned in earlier posts. I found Xyloproct really helped when l needed it for a thrombosed pile during pregnancy, ( though that was a while ago) however if your G. P wont prescribe it there should be something stronger you can have other than Otc preparations. What did they do to help you when you went to hospital due to bleeding and what advice were you given? Meanwhile as before, use ice, sitz baths, etc. There's no reason why on earth you should have to wait for treatment 'until you have completed your family' That sounds like a bizarre comment from the Midwife!
