How can I find a book that I don't know the title of?

For years I've been wanting to re-read a book from my childhood, but I can't remember the title or the author, although I have a pretty good recall of the plot. Does anyone know of a website where you can search key words from the text of the book, or key words about the plot? [hopeful emoticon]

First, copy the web address you want to link to. Then scroll right down this page til you see the box telling you how to do icons etc, and carefully follow the instrauctions given for 'insert a link'. It looks complicated, but really you just type \link{and paste the address here\what you want the link to say in your post} and that's it!

Go on, try!

Oooh, what an exciting, free-wheeling thread I started. Usually my threads are as dull as ditchwater.

I've ordered the trilogy from Amazon, here it is. I really can't wait.

I nearly ordered it but thought I'd check a "real" bookshop first because of the 2-4 week deliver delay.

SoupDragon · 05/08/2005 17:11

And the trashy book is "one for sorrow two for joy" About as lacking in depth as you can get

bran · 05/08/2005 17:24

I ordered it on the basis that if I do manage to find it somewhere else then I can always cancel it. I couldn't find it with a quicker delivery online.

I was having a look on the American Amazon and there was a note from the author saying that the first book won't be re-printed because it's best read as a trilogy so they are only printing the combined novels. All I can say is that it's stood up pretty well as a single novel if I still think about it more than 2 decades later.

Hold on to your copy Soupy, it might become a collectors item.

Good way to make money for the author, Oh No I couldn't possibly let you just read one

MrsGordonRamsay · 05/08/2005 17:41

one for sorrow two for joy
