Watership Down
The Time Traveller's Wife (copious tears)
The 2nd to last Harry Potter

What made you cry in Breaking Dawn? I was sad it ended, but not tearful

BariatricObama · 11/05/2010 14:22

my sister's keeper - and i hated myself for it, i knew i was being manipulated but i cry v. easily.

the womens room - more noble crying there.

Iklboo · 11/05/2010 14:22

To Kill a Mockingbird
The Green Mile
Bogwoppit

thumbwitch · 11/05/2010 14:25

only 3? most books that I read that aren't complete fluff make me cry. I get too far into books and am almost living the story so it's all too easy for me to be affected by them.

Most recent one was Marian Keyes' latest, The Brightest Star in the Sky - had me in bits.

BariatricObama · 11/05/2010 14:25

oh and i had to choke back tears reading dd the end of 'sophie hits six' ffs!

spaceforthree · 11/05/2010 14:26

Re Breaking Dawn - I read all four books and watched both films in the space of a week and was utterly hooked. When I finished that final page I suddenly realised that was it - no more of the story to read and was so . Ran into bathroom to hide from DH!!

To Kill a Mockingbird
Goodbye Mog

and lots more!

WhyFrank · 11/05/2010 14:29

Roughly every other book I read

Recently:
A Thousand Splendid Suns
After You'd Gone

sleepwhenidie · 11/05/2010 14:29

If nobody speaks of remarkable things
The Kite Runner
Atonement

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 11/05/2010 14:30

Oh- also the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns as they are made all the more sad by the fact that they are portrayals of the type of thing actually happening in Afghanistan

thumbwitch · 11/05/2010 14:30

Told you! I am a sucker and have been much worse since DS came along. DH thinks it's hysterical - it's the only sign of softiness he sees in me

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 11/05/2010 14:30

x posts! Great minds, eh

bluebump · 11/05/2010 14:32

My Sisters Keeper, I just finished it last night and blubbed - felt the same about that though as BariatricObama.

Probably loads more that typically I can't think of right now though!

thumbwitch · 11/05/2010 14:32

Can't ever read The Kite Runner again. Ever. And haven't read A Thousand Splendid Suns because of it.

BariatricObama · 11/05/2010 14:32

half of a yellow sun had me blubbing a bit

gingerbaby · 11/05/2010 14:39

Tully
The Girl in Times Square
The Alexander and Tatiana Trilogy

All by Paulina Simons

Makingchanges · 11/05/2010 14:39

P.S. I love you - blubbed at the end of each chapter. My sisters keeper, To kill a mockingbird, Of mice and men, The time travellers wife and the first one I ever remember crying at was Dear Nobody

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:40

The Amber Spyglass - the whole end of it.

Silas Marner

Charlotte Grey

spaceforthree · 11/05/2010 14:46

Think I am going to have to read a Thousand Splendid Suns.

OP posts:
castille · 11/05/2010 14:53

Oh gosh yes The Kite Runner

The Lovely Bones

and Private Peaceful (not strictly adult)

(and the final chapter of Winnie the Pooh but I'm not sure that counts here)

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 11/05/2010 14:53

Do, it's very good

mummyloveslucy · 11/05/2010 15:04

"A boy called It". The pages were soggy.

DastardlyandSmugly · 11/05/2010 15:23

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows made me sob my heart out.

Before I say Goodbye made me howl.

Fugitive Pieces made me cry too.

Recently The Forgotten Garden made me cry quite a bit.

pedrothellama · 11/05/2010 15:29

I cry at Jilly Cooper in a 'who published this crap' sort of way.

When I was a kid it was Seven Little Australians - where the tree falls on her -

OMG - you have just set me off
