Right then Twilight freaks, I'm blaming you for this, I have seen so many thread titles concerning this teenlit nonsense

That just for the sake of research, I went and bought Twi-bloody-light.

That was on Tuesday.

I read it, on Tuesday.

I work full time.

On Wednesday I bought New Moon.

Yup. Read that too.

Today I bought Tw-bloody-light on DVD. I have just watched it.

I now have a pointless crush on a child who was born in 1986, for Christ's sake. And have a definite inner feeling of mooniness which a tiny corner of my brain feel about 15.

Thanks for that!

I think the next logical step is to pre-order 'New Moon' on DVD...

I used to think Mr Pattinson was handsome, then I saw 'Prince Caspian'. Cured me.

He's not so very much younger than me, in truth. Only seven years.

I can't believe that fool Stephanie Meyer wanted the bloke who played Charles Brandon in The Tudors to be Edward. Just shows creators of characters know f all.

Sigh.

Is New Moon not out on DVD yet? Is this the 21st century or what?

Same here Georgimama, saw a few threads on here, picked up the twilight book just to see, have now read all the books, plus read the bit about it being from Edwards pov on the authors website.

Not seen the film though.

Georgimama · 11/02/2010 22:45

It's no good. I don't really want RPez. I want Edward.

If memory serves there are nutters on MN who go around saying things like "Team Jacob!" and attempt to infer that Bella's true soulmate is Jacob. Are they completely mental?

OP posts:
LittleAngelicRose · 11/02/2010 23:02

Team Edward - No, 'fraid not, but the divine Ben Barnes was up for the role of Edward.

LittleAngelicRose · 11/02/2010 23:05

Georgimama - I know Edward is the fave, but you have to admit, the reaction in the cinema to Jacob's strip tease was beyond anything Edward got at any point in the film. It was round my way, anyway! And he IS a child!!

maamalady · 12/02/2010 12:42

Hehe, welcome to the fold, Georgimama! I too was once sceptical, but now I am a Twi-fan and slightly ashamed of myself. I am fortunate that Mr Pattinson is only four years younger than me, which is not too dreadful. DH keeps calling me a crazed fangirl though, so perhaps I've been less subtle than I thought...

Crapweasel · 12/02/2010 12:46

I agree Georgiemama, I want Edward not RPatz too (though once I'd read and re-read all the books in a month I did watch and enjoy the DVD).

You have 2 more books to go, it's Friday. Head to Smiths.

OMG I'm not the only one!

I read all the books, one-a-day, then watched the film.

I feel less guilty about wanting to cradle-snatch now

Fizzylemonade · 17/02/2010 11:42

Be grateful that you discover them now instead of when only 2 books were out and then you had to wait, and wait, and bloody wait for the next one, willing time to fly so you could get your mitts on it.

I have read and re-read and watched and re-watched. It does make me feel 15, not such a bad thing, sigh.

MattBellamysMuse · 17/02/2010 23:33

Georgimama, why have you not read Eclipse (one of the best) and Breaking Dawn? I was so addicted to these books last spring.
Does anyone know the release date for Eclipse (film)?

Sandy22 · 19/02/2010 14:08

Georgimama: Hurry up and read the books there is a whole new world of fan fiction out there just with your name on it.

Hello Team

teamcullen · 19/02/2010 14:20

Georgimama- your next step is to read Ecipse. Then you can choose your team. Then you can read BD in smug satisfaction that you choose the right team.

Well I did anyway

Sandy22 · 19/02/2010 14:25

TeamEdward: yep, bring on the bed & tent scene. Are you going to watch Remember Me to see the Eclipse trailer?

You all need lives if you think that Twishite is good literature.

vanitypear · 25/02/2010 21:45

I'm sure nobody really thinks it's good literature. But there's something annoyingly addictive about it, as irritating as it can be.
I read them all in a week, but had had quite enough (for a lifetime) by the end of Breaking Dawn.
I am feeling far more satisfied - working my way through the Booker shortlist and looking forward to the next Martin Amis - but while I was on Twilight, I had to read them!

nosferatu · 23/03/2010 13:03

I read it and I really don't get why is it so popular. It is quite a cheap literature.

laughinglil · 23/03/2010 17:15

It might be 'cheap literature' but it has captured a huge audience.
Its a great story. Everyone wants an Edward in their life.. I know I wouldn't say no! Love R PATS!
