Once again, a need a book-inspired fancy dress costume please.

Any ideas for something easy but a bit quirky?

How easy would Lady Macbeth be for instance?

Any more ideas very gratefully received!

janeite · 09/10/2009 23:10

Just go dressed as a teacher from the 1930s, speak with a Scottish accent, call them creme de la creme, gels, talk about Italy and tell them you're Miss Jean Brodie.

Or... white sheet, ghostie make up, wild hair - Cathy from Wuthering Heights.

Jadis, the White Witch? (Narnia); Alice?; Pippi Longstocking?; Katherina? (Taming of the Shrew)

Sorry, am just naming random characters now, am hoping one of these will do

Thank you all. Am sorted. I will be either Violet Baudelaire, Oliver Twist, Charlie Bucket or Mrs Twit, depending on what I can find in the wardrobe!

Oh I see you are fixed up now. I was thinking you could go as 'James' wearing a giant peach made out of foam (coloured yellow/orange) with little pockets each containing a toy ladybird, a spider and erm, whatever else there was!

janeite · 10/10/2009 15:33

Love that idea! Maybe next time?

Or a skeleton costume (topical) and white card headband with the face of Mr/Mrs Funnybones on.

hocuspontas · 10/10/2009 15:35

Sorry - getting carried away1

janeite · 10/10/2009 15:43

So I have found -

black prom dress
black satin full length ball skirt
grey knee length shorts
black knee length shorts
black three quarter length peg trousers
black waistcoat
white shirt
baker boy hat
dd1s huge bovver boot things
tank top

Oliver easy / Charlie Bucket easy / Violet would probably be the prom dress and ribbons / what would Mrs Twit wear? Or I can always fall back on Lady Macbeth, Miss Havisham or Miss Moneypenny.

For future reference, this site might be useful

almostreal · 10/10/2009 18:45

Little red ridding hood?

janeite · 10/10/2009 19:03

Thanks both. There is always at least one Little Red Riding Hood!

Am sorted now I think.
