They were like the Famous Five style. The main character was fat (!), his mum played bridge and he always seemed to see somthing that needed investigating whilst selling the parish magazine. Then a gang of them would sort things out. I think he had a shed and was an expert at disguise.

I can't remember much more, but for some reason I keep thinking about them.

I know, I know, must go out more....

Zaphod, I too read Six Cousins At Mistletoe Farm - it was my nightmare book too for years (when you wake up in the night having had a scary dream - I always found that the good old sensible country cousins and their frivolous (but good at heart) townie cousins meant the creepy thoughts went right away!!)

madgirl · 03/06/2005 21:27

now it is REALLY bugging me. gonna keep bumping now til someone tells me. or will have to be saddo again and post on the enid blyton society web site chat boards

hunkermunker · 03/06/2005 21:28

I remember who you mean Dinny - can't remember her name though! She came into it in about the fourth year? Wanted to be a gym teacher too.

I was the biggest enid Blyton fan in the late 70's but I broke my mother's heart when we were temporarily re-housed and I packed the first edition Famous Five complete collection in the wrong box and they got sent to the church jumble
