Henry Miller did the rounds at school - that was filth!

My 80 yr old grandmother's historical novels were literary soft porn in disguise.

Hate to adit it, but fanfiction. Fanfiction and a fellow ff writer who was gay. I learnt about straight sex from a gay man/teen at 14, very interesting that was

PixiNanny · 24/07/2009 15:55

I meant to add that they were novel sized, so I count them. Never read an actual book with explicit sex scenes in them!

Noonki · 24/07/2009 16:15

I always remembered in forever..'you can never go back to just holding hands', which is quite good advice, and something I would follow if I ever end up dating again (being happily married kind of putting a spanner in following that advice at the mo )

Is the crime writer that some of you mentioned Sidney Sheldon? I read all his books in my early teens and they were an education!

CornishKK · 26/09/2009 22:10

My Mum used to run the Sunday school jumble sales and donations used to sit in our utility room until the sale - aged about 11 I found a book called The Happy Hooker in amongst the tea cosies and Readers Digest.

My views on sex were mainly influenced by this book for a long time - I thought everyone fantasised about horses, put beads up their bums and did the thing with Jello.

differentID · 26/09/2009 22:11

Fanny Hill

cathcat · 26/09/2009 22:23

LOl one of my teachers caught me reading Sidney Sheldon and did a cats bum mouth.

"did the jello thing" what is this?!

yama · 26/09/2009 22:23

I can't remember who would give the 16 year old me a ragged old copy of 'Dead Babies' by Martin Amis but my God the book contains some shameful shit.

CornishKK · 27/09/2009 21:05

The Jello thing was lesbians injecting partially set jelly up each other and sucking it out with straws.

There was also a bit with a girl getting stuck to a glass top coffee table and having to be removed with a fish slice.

I often wonder who in the village donated that book to the Sunday school jumble sale. I have my suspicions.........

And I remember something about goldfish too but can't remember where I read it.

Couples by John Updike

Princess Daisy by Judith Krantz

lol!

bibbitybobbityCAT · 06/10/2009 19:25

Oh yes had forgotten about Henry Miller. Most shocking thing about all that was that it was autobiographical (allegedly).
