My husband's book is published today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Squeeeeeeee!!!!

My darling other half's first book called "The Adamantine Palace", a fantasy novel with dragons, is officially published by Gollancz today. Mind you, it's been on sale in Waterstones for a week now - don't ask me why..

Anyway, we're totally ecstatic. For him this is one of the most important days of his life and it's been a long time coming. He started writing (not the same book, obviously) at age 15 and is turning 41 this year..

Congratulations! I'm rather jealous - I'd love to write a novel but I haven't got off my bum yet to actually do it. You are right to be very proud!!

thank you.. I don't know how he does it either. He's got a day job, we've got two small boys - I couldn't string a single sentence together never mind write a whole novel

That's absolutely wonderful news. I have some little experience of trying to write a novel and it's an amazing achievement to finsh let alone be published. Well done him.

And 'fantasy novel with dragons' sounds like 75% of dh's bookshelf. I've bookmarked the amazon page for dh to have a look and might just get it for him as an early anniversary present.

Its always been a secret dream for me to write a novel .... but eek will probably take me 40 years to get round to it !

thanks, ShowofHands! It's a very nice picture considering how much I hate having my photo taken. My younger son has just been signed by Norrie Carr agency.. don't know where he gets his looks from tbh

9yo and 74 pages into his first work?! Fantastic!! Pity it definitely is not for children or YA otherwise I would have gotten Stephen to sign and personalise a copy for him and send it to you!
