Haven't had one of these for a while...

Now - Paulo Coelho The Devil and Miss Prym (book club read)

Next - Georgiana biog then probably The Gathering (depending how long the Georgiana biog takes and whether its book club read again !)

Hi HC! Did you get my email explaining my absence? I think it was sent to you all. Just didn't get back in time, as I knew may be the case. Shame to have missed it though. Did you have a nice time?

hoxtonchick · 20/04/2008 22:10

I'm near the end of the Crimson Petal and the White which is absolutely fab (and quite filthy)

After I finish that I plan to prise Lords of the Bow by Conn Iggulden (sp?) from my mother's grasp.

Just reading Resistance by Owen somebody. Have Chesil Beach, Mr Pip and Rachel Cusk's A Life's Work on the pile to read next.

Currently reading PS I Love You as was in need of some trashy chick lit. Next will be Wuthering Heights for Book club - under duress as I did it at school. Not looking forward to it.

I also have a pile of about 20 unread books which I like to go and look at! (I get panicky if I have nothing to read - comes of living in Vietnam when I often ran out of new reading material!)

Have just finished reading Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman and will now read the next two in the trilogy (Knife Edge and Checkmate).

I seem to be going through a phase of reading teenage fiction rather than adult, probably because I borrow a lot of books from the library for my 13 yo DS and then read them myself either after him, or if he rejects them.

I cried when I read Noughts and Crosses

the acidental tourist is great (so much better than the film!) but all Anne Tyler is fab.
Just reading a forest in darkness by sue miller (in the vein of shields and tyler) and just finished the alison weir novel about lady jane grey - very good.
need to read i, robot for book group
i also have about 10 books lined up which i go and look at and salivate over - so love a good book!

Finished GRANTA 101 - I like the new look and feel, plus the quality of the writing is better in this edition. Lets hope the new editor continues in this form.

Now reading Annapurna South Face by Chris Bonnington. I have long been a fan of mountaineering books, but I usually go for the 1950s.

Then I might resume Roy Jenkins' biography of Churchill.
