Touching the Void is good I must say

but both of you want it!

I would like enduring love

but both of you have got it!

aaaargh etc etc

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:29

This is so annoying because I had a big book clear out when I moved in the summer, so I haven't got many to swap

popsycal · 19/12/2004 21:31

swap demented for enduring love/touching the void....then i will nick touching the void from demented!

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:33

ooh excellent thinking pops!

is that ok with you demented? btw my copy is paperback and has been read twice, so fairly well thumbed. No crusty bits adhering to it or anything unsavoury though.

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:34

v v rude

there is a thread about it somewhere from when i read it

i like a bit of sauce

Demented · 19/12/2004 21:34

Oh no! Something told me to refresh the screen before I posted!

Popsycle I have a shocking amount of books waiting to be read too! Why don't you do the swap with spacedonkey because you were first and it's rightly yours and by the time you have read it I may have something more appealing to offer, meantime I'll stick it on my Amazon wish list for one of those evenings when I've had too much wine and get a bit shopping basket happy!

WideWebWitch · 19/12/2004 21:34

I have loads of books, tell me what you want!

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:34

www what have you got to swap?

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:35

don't spose you've got any bernice rubens ... ?

Demented · 19/12/2004 21:36

Arrrgh, just read your most recent post. It's up to you guys whatever you prefer. The only thing would be that my copy of Enduring Love probably isn't in as good condition as Popsycle's, depends if that bothers you or not.

Can't believe we both went for the same book!

WideWebWitch · 19/12/2004 21:36

Umm, loads! I had a spate of buying crappy novels in hardback a while back so I have the latest Marion Keyes and Catherine Alliott and Jane Green (, ) or I have lots of other stuff, what do you like?

popsycal · 19/12/2004 21:36

this is the one on my list that i found most interesting.......has a nice splash of sex in too!!

seriously demented...i am 7 months pregnant and dont think i will get it read........

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 19/12/2004 21:37

No, don't have any Bernice rubens.

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:38

hey ladies, there's no hurry at all, i'll keep touching the void and you just let me know when you wannit, doesthatsoundok?

Demented · 19/12/2004 21:38

spacedonkey just read what you said about your copy of Touching the Void, sounds similar to my copy of Enduring Love - no crusty bits, don't you just hate them, shudder!

spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:38

Many of my books end up a bit "frilly" where I've read them in the bath

popsycal · 19/12/2004 21:39

'frilly' is good!

OP posts:
spacedonkey · 19/12/2004 21:39

I don't mind my own crusty bits on books, because generally I can remember where they came from, but when you buy a second hand book and it's got ... shudder ... someone else's crusty bits on it ... bleurghhhh

JanH · 19/12/2004 21:41

Lots of frilly books here - I know many people whose books look pristine after they've read them, ours all look extremely used after a couple of chapters...
