What sort of books?

Oh I had such a hard time in Borders not buying tons for myself! What do you like though?

I bought this, The Timewaster letters but don't know who to give it to so may have it myself and

and I want the latest Tom Wolfe

Oh i like most things!
Reading 'lighter' books at the moment but ready for something a little more involved.....
A new borders shop has just opened about 10 mins from us and I live there at the oment!

I liked The Bitch in the house and have bought BIL The Bastard on the couch for Christmas. If you like reading about food, I loved Kitchen Confidential . Hmm, light novels? Let me think.

Well I know some of the books that I'd like; maybe some of them might inspire you! Nigella's "Feast", the new Philip Pullman (can't remember what it's called, something about a scarecrow I think), anything by Isabel Allende but especially "City Of Beasts" and its followup; Michael Palin's "Himalaya"; a history of chocolate and a history of votes for women; a biog of Jane Austen (yes, another one); do you like the sound of any of these? I'll do some more thinking later!! happy reading!

do you like Nigella? I wouldn't mind a copy of Feast (but when I was pg cookery books made me cry for some weird reason)

My sister is getting (don't click this link sister if you read this) this, amongst other things and my mum is getting Frenchwomen don't get fat

I've got this on my wish list at Amazon (waiting for it to come out in paperback ), don't know if it's any good though.

on the classics front Diary of a Nobody is bloody hilarious

I liked The Great Food Gamble, also by John Humphrys but you won't eat salmon ever again unless it's organic. I don't seem to be very interested in fiction atm, don't know why, I used to be. I'm reading Married atm and enjoying it so far.

pops, have you read any/many Bill Brysons? Notes from a Small Island , Neither Here nor There and Notes from a Big Country are all falling-off-your-chair funny (not always but YKWIM!)

if you haven't read Moab is my Washpot by Stephen Fry, that is an excellent read

I enjoyed The Smoking Diaries by Simon Gray too. Anything by Ben Elton is usually enjoyable and minorly thought provoking.
