I'm starting Road of Bones by Christopher Golden.

OP posts:
tobee · 06/01/2023 20:34

I'm reading Dangerous Ages by Rose Macaulay.

bluechameleon · 06/01/2023 20:48

I'm reading America Dirt. I started it as a bedtime book but it has changed status to a train/daytime book because it wasn't very relaxing! Good so far though.

hiredandsqueak · 06/01/2023 20:51

I'm reading Paper Dolls by Alex Smith suggested by JD Kirk when he popped onto a thread.

321zyx · 06/01/2023 20:53

Taste - Stanley Tucci

TheGoodEnoughWife · 06/01/2023 20:55

Reading - The School For Good Mothers.

Listening (Audible) - Once Upon A River

Trolltrotters · 06/01/2023 20:57

Starting the rivers of London after a few good recommendations on here.

I've just finished 'the silver collar' by Antonia Hodgson. Flipping brilliant and I couldn't put it down. The type of book you mourn when You've finished!

GoodbyeLondon · 06/01/2023 21:02

I started The Keeper of Stories yesterday. It's by the same author who wrote The Keeper of Lost Things which I really wasn't keen on, so I don't really know why I got this one, but so far it's ok (I've only started it)

Annasgirl · 06/01/2023 21:06

I'm reading ‘Age of Vice’ by Depti Kapoor. This is my 3rd book this week but it is more intense than my first 2 so it might take a week. The start was shockingly bleak - I may have to abandon it until Spring!!

Blackcountryexile · 06/01/2023 21:36

The Museum of Ordinary People by Mike Gayle. Enjoying it so far, An easy read,

Panda89 · 06/01/2023 22:07

Tress of the Emerald Sea - Brandon Sanderson
Got this ebook via a kickstarter after the author 'accidentally' wrote 4 books in lockdown. It's really good so far, 61% through so should finish this weekend.

WhatICallMyUsername · 06/01/2023 22:17

The School for Good Mothers for book club. Really not enjoying it but as soon as I am done I can start The Sisters by Claire Douglas (who
I discovered through book club!)

onemouseplace · 06/01/2023 22:22

I've just finished The School for Good Mothers (didn't really enjoy it either @WhatICallMyUsername ).

Now reading I'm Sorry You Feel That Way by Rebecca Wait which I'm enjoying much more.

WhatICallMyUsername · 06/01/2023 22:23

If it wasn't for book club I would have given up @onemouseplace! Although people regularly go who've started books and given up or not read them at all so that might be me at the February meet!!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/01/2023 22:24

The Crow Road by Ian Banks

GracePooleslaugh · 06/01/2023 22:27

Gone with the Wind.

I've read it before years ago but decided to read it again.

charabang · 06/01/2023 22:27

The Marriage Pact. Really enjoying it 150 pages in.

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 06/01/2023 22:30

I'm reading three totally different books at the moment:

  • School For Good Mothers - which I'm enjoying so far but, having read the comments above, am not so sure about!
  • The Authority Gap - which is excellent but sends me into such a rage and gives me so much to think about that I can only read it in small chunks
  • the Noom book - which is about the psychology of weightloss. I have 2st to lose and am determined it will actually happen this time but, to do that, think I need to work out why it hasn't happened so far other than me being a greedy so&so!. Again, quite a bit to consider so small chunks are best

The Rivers of London is excellent

Teacake22 · 06/01/2023 22:35

The Forgotten Guide to Happiness by Sophie Jenkins

Hedonism · 06/01/2023 22:36

I'm also reading the Rivers of London! I read the first book between Christmas and New Year, now looking forward to the next in the series.

MissyB1 · 06/01/2023 22:37

The twelve new Marple stories. Mostly hits so far, but a couple of misses.

virginqueen · 06/01/2023 22:38

Taste by Stanley Tucci - not the best choice when trying to lose weight !

RoseMartha · 06/01/2023 22:44

The Glass House - Eve Chase

The Glass House - Eve Chase

I absolutely loved this

highlandcoo · 06/01/2023 23:33

The Family Chao by Lan Samantha Chang. It was a Christmas present.

Almost 100 pages in and I'm still waiting for it to grab me but I think I'm just not concentrating very well at the moment.

HerringBoneBlanket · 06/01/2023 23:37

TheGoodEnoughWife · 06/01/2023 20:55

Reading - The School For Good Mothers.

Listening (Audible) - Once Upon A River

I loved Once Upon a River! Took a bit of getting into (I read it not listened) but it stayed with me!

How's The School for Good Mother's? A friend has lent this to me and said it was unsettling.
