Time slip novels

I absolutely love reading time slip novels. I've read all of Nicola Cornick's series and I've just finished the second instalment in Kelley Armstrong's Stitch in time series. Can anyone please recommend any more novels in the same genre? I've googled it and searched everywhere but there seems to be very few authors writing this type of novel.

I actually started the game of thrones books. Not something I thought I would ever get into. But I am hooked. If you like historical time slips Phillipa Gregory's books are great based on the English royalty all down through the years

I agree with

Outlander
Jodi Taylor’s Maxwell St Mary’s series

Frozen in Time is also fabulous-it’s a children’s book, but an excellent story!

OmaSwims · 28/09/2022 20:58

Another vote for The Chronicles of St. Mary's series, and the Time Police spin offs

AllAboutMargot · 28/09/2022 20:58

Daphne du Maurier "The House on the Strand".

Another one for outlander and 11.22.63. How about The Time Travellers wife? It sort of qualifies as time slip

scrufffy · 28/09/2022 22:24

A murder in time by Julie McElwain and the other books in the series.

SadieBaneso · 29/09/2022 09:51

I’ve recently really enjoyed the Joseph Bridgeman series by Nick Jones.

All my favourite time slip books are technically children's books

A Traveller in Time
Tom's Midnight Garden
Charlotte Sometimes
Moondial

I loved Charlotte Sometimes!

@AllAboutMargot thank you for this prompt, I was trying to remember this book some time ago, but had forgotten the author (how could I)

Nearly all of Barbara Erskine's books have an element of this. They cover a huge range of historical periods and locations so you can find one that interests you.

Anya Seaton's - Green Darkness is one of my favourites - set in Elizabethan times

And still she wished for company (Margaret Irving) . Think this more or less invented the technique. It’s very old but sometimes comes up second hand. She is a much under rated writer for anyone who likes well researched and factually accurate historical novels.

Another Kate Atkinson one - Human Croquet .

Twoscotcheggsandajarofmarmite · 29/09/2022 10:53

Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercey, one of my all time favourite authors. I reread my tattered copy of Braided Lives annually.

I love a time slip. A couple that haven't been mentioned yet:
Borrowed Time by Russell Dean
The Runes Series (4 books) by Christina Courtenay. I think she also has a highlander series but I haven't read those.

ImAvingOops · 29/09/2022 11:03

I love the Connie Willis Blackout/All Clear. It's about academics studying WW2 who get stuck.

Another vote for 11.22.63 - quite jarring in places, which you'd expect from SK.

The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain. A woman in the 70s gives birth to a child with a serious heart condition. She's able to travel to the future to find out information to help give her daughter a chance of survival. Really good and thought provoking.

The Love of my Other Life by C.J Connolly is more lighthearted, similar to Sliding Doors.

Oh, I love Woman On the Edge of Time. I must find my copy.

All of Barbara Erskine's novels

MaggieMGill · 02/10/2022 22:57

Another vote for anything by Barbara Erskine

The Chronicles of St Mary's might work for you? Has a time travel/history element.

Don't let Dr Bairstow hear you calling it time travel!

Investigating historical events in contemporary time, please.

Time and time again by Ben elton is good

Playing Beatie Bow, it’s a children’s book but I remember my mum reading it at the same time I did and enjoying it

AnApparitionQuipped · 13/10/2022 07:53

Not truly time slip, but you might enjoy The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett.

Artus · 13/10/2022 07:56

Another vote for The House on the Strand, as well as many of the others.
