Right I hope the title gives it away. Spoilers ahoy after / during reading Galbraith's The Ink Black Heart.

I really enjoyed the Strike/Iago/Charlotte chapter. I feel like he finally got his closure there.

I also love Midge, she was fantastic in the chapter where she got the goods on Ross.

Oh and Pat, All hail Pat! Love how Strike and her relationship has evolved. There's real affection there.

I think if she starts a relationship with Murphy it won't cause much tension with her having to work a lot because he's police he will be be in the same situation.
I think it will likely be her investigating the same case and not sharing information or getting in the way of the police, something like that.

Midge wasn't developed that much, but I had Eve from Eastenders in my head when she described her look.
'Buffy paws ' ( her ex) sounded awful!

Outside of the main plot I think Shanker's text was my absolute highlight.

Compared to the others who were all nice and caring !
Lots of characters missing in this book.

Considering that Robin became Buffypaws early on and her and Strike used to swap around on there , I am surprised that none of them realized that Anoime could also give someone else license to pretend to be them as well. Or pretend to be someone else etc.
When it said about them being on 'different channels' ( I was trying to read on a kindle too so those pages were hard to see / read ) was that the dark web they meant ? I don't play any online games or use Twitter much ( as it's mostly vile ) so my social media knowledge isn't that wide. Plus on Twitter I'm still not 100 percent how it works , it's not as easy as Facebook is to navigate etc and I rarely write anything on there at all!

@the80sweregreat no, these were just different chat channels in the game - the text-based nature of them seemed like a bit of a weird throwback to very early instant messaging but it was basically like if you had Facebook messenger open and you've got a chat going with Friend A and then separately you've got a chat going with Friend A and Friend B. Friend B has no way of knowing you're also chatting separately with Friend A. The game itself was like a Facebook group, where everyone can see everyone else's messages.

No dark web involved!

The dark web was mentioned by Robin at one stage I think ?
They were both a bit puzzled by how it worked as first because the game wouldn't let them in until Midge asked for a ex for the log in details so she could pretend to be Buffypaws
I think that the chat room pages were difficult for me to read as well , but that seems to have been a common problem with other people as well , plus it's not my world , so not sure how it worked.
I know I need to read it again or buy the actual book

I have to say that reading about strike being in the ship and shovel in London when I was also there was quite something!!

The silver haired man wasn't mentioned again ! Intriguing though and clearly liked Robin
I admit that I would have preferred a proper meal out somewhere rather than cocktails and a sandwich in the Ritz! It sounds nice , but too posh /expensive for me plus tiny nibbles like that didn't fill him up. I'm common though!

Yes, I was thinking of a full re-read @VivietteConstantine , esp as it's getting more important to pick up on stuff from previous books.

I finished it this afternoon and now I'm bereft as nothing else matches up, might have to start from the beginning again. I made the mistake of looking on Twitter, some of the comments about it (from people who haven't read it!) accusing JK of all sorts and coming across as total caricatures just like in the book - the irony!

I have to say I think this one is the best one.

Yea this was a bit of a massive point to miss. But as none of the suspects being surveilled was the killer it was all moot I suppose.

I need more Strike in my life so I've been looking for an air date for the troubled blood series and I noticed IMDb isn't showing who's playing Pat.

I picture Maureen Lipman even though I know she's too old to play Pat!

The actor playing Pat hasn't been announced yet but JKR tweeted that she was really excited about the casting for this role. I can't wait to see who it is; I love Pat.

Me too! And I love her relationship with Strike, especially in IBH when she was baking him fruitcake
