I loved the book too, Should make interesting watching as a film. Sorry but do not know EB so cannot comment on casting.

dosydot · 15/12/2007 06:22

Just googed him, I can sort of imagine him in the role, BUT I always imagined him a bit more rugged and worn looking - sill I suppose thats what makeup and wardrobe are for

Sorry, I forget you lot are in the UK.
Eric Banna is an Australian actor, who was in Romulus my Father, Chopper and The Hulk.

Loved the book. Eric is a good actor - I am sure he will be able to pull it off - especially if he drops a few kgs. He was also in Munich for those who don't know him ...

harpsichordcarrier · 15/12/2007 07:35

I thought the book was terrible but I do like Eric Bana
say hello to Uncle Chop Chop

ChippolataMinton · 15/12/2007 07:47

Hard book to film, I would've thought, all that time travelling.

CremolaFirCone · 15/12/2007 07:48

Hi. I usually sneak around this thread without posting but, it's great they're making the film as I adored the book. Eric Bana is lovely, and I really like Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Hot Chick, Red Eye). EXCITED now!

ninedragons · 16/12/2007 01:26

Good call on Edward Norton. Maybe even John Cusack if he's not looking too old and haggard these days!

Joash · 16/12/2007 10:51

Eric Banna - WTF!! I do hope this is a joke.

vitomum · 16/12/2007 10:54

i alawys thought Adrian Brody for henry

CremolaFirCone · 16/12/2007 11:10

excellent choice- he is a perfect henry vitomum. eric bana is far too smooth.Needed a much edgier look IMO.

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 16/12/2007 11:38

Hmm, no to Bana

phdlifeneedsanewlife · 16/12/2007 11:44

Eric Bana as Henry??

Cosmogirl · 24/12/2007 14:04

I heard ages ago that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt bought the rights to the film version back when they were together. They loved the book and wanted to play the lead roles.......

DoubleBluff · 24/12/2007 14:11

Phew thought you meant it was the guy who played teh hulk in the TV series - that would be so wrong.
I loved the book it made me cry, I will be a jibberirng wreck at teh film!

Mandalin · 27/12/2007 03:17

"i alawys thought Adrian Brody for henry"

Excellent choice.

but Brad and Jennifer? No thanks, it would be more like an episode of Friends.

Very excited, don't care who plays them TBH. I too was a jibbering wreck with the book, the time-travelling foetuses were so heartbreaking.

OrmIrian · 27/12/2007 13:13

Oh goody! Now I can hate the film just as much as the book

Loved the book but got a bit confused with all the tooing and froing and the time line thing- kept having to flick back and forth to keep track of what was happenning (but maybe that's me being a bit thick!)Not sure how they will do it in a film.
Adrian Brody would be perfect.

thymeoperator · 08/01/2008 20:55

Please God, don't let them ruin my favourite book with the film....
