I’ve recently finished the child by Fiona Barton which I thought was good and was a definite page turner.
Suggestions please Smile

Was just going to say the Lying Room.
I hadn't read any of NF's recent stuff as I got a bit fed up around the Red Room stage, but this was good.

I recently enjoyed Never have I ever by Joshilyn Jackson and Bring me back by B.A. Paris

bungleZippy12 · 01/03/2020 10:24

The silent patient

Deathraystare · 01/03/2020 10:30

bunglezipy12 - love the name even though it makes me cringe to think of the programme!

TheMemoryLingers · 01/03/2020 10:33

I recently enjoyed The Nanny by Gilly Macmillan and The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood.

Feenie · 01/03/2020 11:43

All Alex Marwood are good, apart from the last one, which was dreadful.

Ditto Erin Kelly.

Lisa Jewell has honed her craft brilliantly over her last few books - had dismissed her as chick lit after the Andrew McCarthy book in the 90s.but have read some excellent recent ones.

Clare Mackintosh I Let You Go

HollowTalk · 01/03/2020 19:45

Fiona Barton's The Suspect is really good, too. I love her books.

peanutbutterandbanana · 01/03/2020 20:41

The Whisper Man by Alex North has got some cracking reviews and one of my favourite radio presenters recommended it and he never recommends anything dud.

Elbels · 01/03/2020 20:45

I've just finished the whisper man and really enjoyed it

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 01/03/2020 22:25

I second Lisa Jewell's more recent books, especially And then she was Gone and I Found You. Also really enjoyed Louise Candlish's Our House and JP Delaney's The Girl Before.

bananajelly · 01/03/2020 23:41

The whisper man and The Family Upstairs

Ellmau · 03/03/2020 00:33

Ruth Ware is great.

Gillian McAllister. Crime meets emotion.

Into the Darkest corner by Elizabeth Haynes.
Could not put it down!

TheMemoryLingers · 04/03/2020 06:43

Elizabeth Haynes' Human Remains is quite good albeit rather gruesome if you are squeamish.

Russellbrandshair · 04/03/2020 06:44

The magpies by mark edwards
The house next door Anne rivers siddons

PlausibleSuit · 04/03/2020 06:49

There's a few of them now but the Slough House books by Mick Herron are terrific. Spy thrillers but shot through with a very dry wit. Beautifully written. Slow Horses is the first one.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 04/03/2020 07:00

The Flower Girls by Alice Clark-Platts. I couldn't put that down over Christmas break.

MrsPussinBoots · 04/03/2020 07:06

The Jan Fabel series by Craig Russell
