The hiuse at riverton....this is a pile of crap isn't it...and are all richard and judy reads awful?

...bouhgt it in tesco as i wanted to read something and a few pages in it is not my kind of book at all, can't stand the faux way it is written and just seems a horrible big house illiterate cliche...does it get any better or should i just bin it?

and are all books with richard and judy recommends on rubbish?

All his early stories have that unsettling, sinister edge which he seems to have lost somwhat in recent years.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain what the point was of the chapter in "Enduring Love" where Mark goes to get hold of a gun from those mad people with the dogs. It seems to add nothing to the overall plot - could easily have been summed up in a few lines.

i think i shall go back to the short stories..when first love last rites first came out i was amazed and he seemed so fresh and new

the cement garden is very sort of uncomfortable reading

I've mentioned Star of the Sea a few times around here, Miaou, and am glad you, too, enjoyed it!
