Neville looks huge!

disap'ed there isn't a clear pic of a thestral.

will just. need. to. waaaaaait.

BandofMuggles · 27/06/2007 08:55

Neville is def a bit less ugly. He got very gawky looking didn't he?? Aaaaaaaaaaah.

It is deeply disturbing that I find Harry quite attractive in some of those pictures

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 27/06/2007 09:47

Neville is one of those people who needed to grow into his face.
Michael Gambon so not right - too shouty. Am looking forward to the film though.

dewmeadow · 27/06/2007 12:49

Im sooooo behind as have been skiving for a few days. Too lazy to read 3 days of Harrymania. Definitely there seems to be a concensus that Micheal Gambon isnt a good DD. Richard Harris was perfection.

Im not so into the films as the thinner plot is disappointing and at the start I found Daniel Radcliffe to be a bit wooden as an actor (do I dare post this?)

I thought teh other child actors were far better than him.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 27/06/2007 13:23

Yes I preferd the people playing Ron and the twins.

MrsWho · 27/06/2007 13:36

Twins exit looks good!

Azakaban does too!

Songbird · 27/06/2007 13:58

Hello I'm back from long weekend away visiting a friend and her gorgeous new baby. Yum!

Ron's my favourite. Even though he's supposed to be tall and skinny with a long nose, Rupert Grint is great. Hermione's good but a little too 'drama school' IYSWIM. Harry was awfully wooden in the first one but really is getting better and better - that pic of him being held back by Lupin, presumably when Sirius died [sob] just kills me. The twins bug a bit me as well, they can't act for shit. Still funny though.

Gambon bloody annoys me - what's with the accent??? Scottish? Irish? Richard Harris was Irish and didn't play DD Irish! And he's too shouty and annoying. Richard Harris was utter perfection.

Anyway, onto more important things, I'm trying to think of a new name!

SongPhoenix?
FawkesBird? - quite like this, have to say!
HogwartsSchoolSongbird?
HauntingPhoenixSongbird?

Or..... something totally different?

Songbird · 27/06/2007 14:00

SongThestral?

That reminds me, are the thestrals in the film? Coz when I saw the trailer at the cinema (made me want to cry, I'm so excited) they were flying to London on broomsticks.

MrsWeasley · 27/06/2007 14:01

dewmeadow: I have always seen that as part of his charm. Ron would be more comfortable in Hogwarts being from a Wizard backgroud. Hermione would be confident anywhere but Harry would be in awe of it all having had nothing. No friends, no love( ) and not enjoying his previous schooling.

I too preferred Richard Harris as DD but have acepted that we cant have him or even his imprint left in this world!

Chris Coulson wont be playing Tom Riddle anymore as he looks to old now.

MaureenMLove · 27/06/2007 14:03

Can someone tell me what certificate Order of Phoenix is please!

MrsWeasley · 27/06/2007 14:03

yes they are in it :}

MrsWeasley · 27/06/2007 14:03

12A

MaureenMLove · 27/06/2007 14:04

Thank you! As you were ladies!!

Songbird · 27/06/2007 14:06

That's a shame, Tom Riddle was yummy

MrsWeasley · 27/06/2007 14:07

your welcome

songbird: A bit of a Thestral in this picture

MrsWeasley · 27/06/2007 14:09

obsessed ? me? never!!

MrsWho · 27/06/2007 14:20

Thestrals look good

rosmerta · 27/06/2007 14:33

Tonks looks cool!

& yes, image 94 does bring a lump to your throat, doesn't it?!

Songbird · 27/06/2007 14:45

Oh God, that's it, no.94 - blub! Such a powerful shot. If anyone else is obsessed with the LOTR films like me (didn't get on with the books), there's a wonderful bit where Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas have just found the pile?o?orcs in Rohan and think Merry and Pippin are dead. Aragorn kicks an orc head and yells, sinking to his knees. This brings a lump to my throat every time, such raw emotion. But apparently, his yell was so good that time because after doing several takes, he actually broke his toe on that one, so his yell is real .

Just thought ? Flitwick in GOF film is a mini-Hitler ? WTF were they thinking?

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 27/06/2007 14:54

Image 62 - yummy yummy yum yum.
Phoenixsong I think.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 27/06/2007 15:17

I love the LOTR films. The army of the dead are cool.

Songbird · 27/06/2007 15:45

Not that I?ve reached legendary status on MN yet, but should it be PhoenixSong or PhoenixSongbird, just in case noone recognises me? Your recent name change was very subtle

The army of the dead were amazing, and really underused in the cinema release version of the film. We held out and got the extended editions which are each about 4 hours long! We have to do it in two halves!

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 27/06/2007 15:55

Yes that's true no-one recognised me so maybe you should get some other opinions. I just got so excited that one of DD's middle name's is Brian that I had to use it.
Not sure if we have the extended on our DVD. I will need to check.

becklespeckle · 27/06/2007 16:14

PhoenixSongbird is fab, I like that one!
I did register the name Fawkes (cos I love him) but then realised no-one would know me! Still can't think of a pottery name for myself!

singingmum · 27/06/2007 16:20

Beckle I don't think I would even know how to name change let alone think of one so that anyone would know me.

Love LOTR have watched the extended eds over and over. Also read and re-read books inc the Hobbit.Love them

Am 3/4 of the way through my latest re-read of Ootp.Am not looking forward to DD's death.Starts with lump in throat and shock when he dies and then all out blubbering when I read the funeral and Fawkes song.
Is anyone else gutted that Fawkes is apparently never to return.Am gutted as have always loved Fawkes?
