Brilliant!!!

Bagadverts · 17/05/2018 20:35

Great news, such sad news about Sansom's health.

LARLARLAND · 17/05/2018 20:44

How sad about CJ Sansom.

DP is beyond excited about a new Shardlake. He is a massive fan.

SatsukiKusakabe · 17/05/2018 21:29

I had read that but also that it was “incurable but treatable” so had hoped the outlook wasn’t totally bleak. I read an article he did about being bullied at school and, one feels one knows him a bit, through his books.

Bestbe · 17/05/2018 21:33

Wow!!

Bestbe · 17/05/2018 21:36

Sent too soon. So exciting. Very sad about C J Samson.

ShinyMe · 20/05/2018 20:17

Awful news about Sansom, but wonderful news about Shardlake. I really thought Lamentation would be the last.

'Tombland' though? Really? That sounds awful imo. It doesn't sound Tudor, it sounds like some kind of western, or a fantasy novel.

Weezol · 20/05/2018 20:23

Sad to hear the new about CJS health.

Have enjoyed Shardlake very much and have a huge crush on Jack Barak. I really like Guy too, he'd be fascinating to talk to.

woodhill · 20/05/2018 20:25

Brilliant, can't wait

Weezol · 20/05/2018 20:27

Is the title something to do with Henry VIII's obsession with designing his own massive tomb for posterity?

SatsukiKusakabe · 20/05/2018 20:31

It’s set in Norwich, which has a well known area called Tombland that played a prominent part in Ketts rebellion, which the book covers.

Weezol · 20/05/2018 20:33

Thank you - should have known Shardlake wouldn't be allowed spend more than a few nights in his own bed.

ILoveDolly · 20/05/2018 20:33

Oooh good news and in time for my mum's Christmas present Grin

ShinyMe · 20/05/2018 20:33

I like Barak too @Weezol. He's such a good character. Well, they all are. I just love Shardlake, and Guy. I really miss Joan too, I was sad that she died outside the books.

lolaflores · 20/05/2018 20:35

Great news
There are so many that try to walk on his footsteps bit tjere is such an air of sadness and isolation that hangs round shardlake that no one else can create. And briiant research too.

HappydaysArehere · 25/05/2018 09:43

What terrible news about his health. I missed that article as I don’t get it the Times on a Sunday. I was so excited about reading the news of his new book but this has clouded it.

KurriKurri · 25/05/2018 20:30

Oh brilliant - can't wait - and now that I know it is set in my neck of the woods I'm extra excited. think I might reread the others in anticipation.

Really sad to hear C J Sansom has been so poorly thought Sad
