Weepingwillows12 · 17/05/2018 12:30

Ooh that's exciting! I thought he had given up on Shardlake

Clawdy · 17/05/2018 14:06

That is brilliant news!

twirlywho · 17/05/2018 14:07

Oh wow thanks for this info.

SatsukiKusakabe · 17/05/2018 14:52

That’s great news! Heard he was ill and wasn’t sure we would be getting another. Hope it means his health is on the up too.

RatherBeRiding · 17/05/2018 14:54

Aaaaaaarghhhhhh!!! How exciting. I am way too invested in Matthew Shardlake and the Tudor intrigues. Hope this time round he finds a good woman! Grin

disorganisedmummy · 17/05/2018 16:34

Oh wow,so excited. I'm currently reading the 4th one Revelation. I have read them one after the other and love them. Can't wait!!

Weepingwillows12 · 17/05/2018 16:53

October is going to feel like along time

Dandeliontea123 · 17/05/2018 16:54

Great news! Thanks.

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2018 16:55

Yay!

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2018 16:56

But the last one was quite ending-y, wasn't it? I wonder where this one will go?

DramaAlpaca · 17/05/2018 16:57

Oh good! Can't wait.

ElspethFlashman · 17/05/2018 17:04

Oh thank god, I was so depressed after the last one. "Hello, my names Matthew Shardlake and I'm not allowed a single happy thought in my whole life. Ever."

Slim to zero chance of a woman, I'd say, since he keeps banging on about how old he is and c. S. Sansom is a confirmed bachelor anyway and doesn't seem to think it's important.

ConsistentInsomniac · 17/05/2018 17:05

This news has just made my day. Thanks, OP!

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2018 17:07

"My name is Matthew Shardlake and everything is my fault"

ElspethFlashman · 17/05/2018 17:09
Grin
MightyMagnificentScarfaceClaw · 17/05/2018 17:10

Oh excellent! I don’t think the last one was ending-y, it’s just the start of Edward’s reign! There are two more Tudors after him!

SatsukiKusakabe · 17/05/2018 17:10

He’s the Postman Pat of detectives but we love him.

A woman will feature. Then slip from his grasp/turn out to be a villain/turn out to be a man/move up north.

gingerchick · 17/05/2018 17:13

Yay!! Can’t wait

ElspethFlashman · 17/05/2018 17:16

The Postman Pat of detectives! GrinGrinGrin

Is that cos he absolutely fucks everything up but at the end everyone goes "Yay!"

Pp3000 · 17/05/2018 17:21

Yessssssssss!!!!!! Wonder what will happen with Barak - didn't his hand get lopped off at the end of the last one?!

ElspethFlashman · 17/05/2018 17:24

I suspect he's gone for good.

CramptonHodnet · 17/05/2018 18:15

Very excited about this news. Pleased that CJ Sansom has been able to write another one, after his health problems.

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2018 19:02

I'm still sad about Chancery.

ConsistentInsomniac · 17/05/2018 19:44

There was an article in The Sunday Times a couple of weeks ago about Sansom. He is terminally ill sadly.

CramptonHodnet · 17/05/2018 20:32

Oh that's terrible news, Consistent. I had known he had cancer and was very ill during the writing of Lamentation, but hadn't realised it was now terminal.
