There was a bit fairly soon after the baby was born (whoops have forgotten his name - read it a few weeks ago) where she went out wearing a dress that zipped up at the back.

And then thought that it might be hard to breast feed in. How many people manage to go out in that sort of dress that soon fter having a baby??

As you can tell, that part annoyed me

She was still thinking about breastfeeding (but luckily had a bottle with her). Her midwife walked past when she was sitting on a bench feeding him.

Anyone remember the baby's name? Was it Ben?

i thought she was going to be a very different character to the one she turned out to be.

I won a copy which was fun and very gratifying but it makes me terribly guilty to say that I didn?t enjoy Babyface?the first problem for me is a personal idiosyncrasy. I don?t like novels written in the present tense. This isn?t happening now ? it happened then. But, much more importantly, I couldn?t identify with the heroine at all. There is a strange lack of emotion throughout the book. What is she really doing with this man? There isn?t a hint anywhere that she even fancies him enough to sleep with him let alone have his baby. Incidentally, he might be a bit boring but I wouldn?t mind meeting him ? he sounded a truly kind and decent man; pretty rare! Her pre-baby life is never really explained. Was she part of the magazine life or not? If she was then the baby modelling shouldn?t be such a surprise. And the trip to France was utterly incongrous. I am sorry not to like this book. It seems very unfair to criticise someone who has succeeded in having a book published ? by that very fact alone they are already a better writer than I am ? but I don?t think this is very good. Just before this one I read a couple of books by Marian Keyes which really impressed me. Her books start off as fairly shallow chick-lit and then gradually reveal more and more character and story. Excellent.

i'm with wsm, won the book so feel i had to like it, but have to admit to being a bit disappointed. got into it fairly quickly but then it did seem to dry up. i had to make myself finish it.
didn't like the ending? was there one or did it just end?
