Find this book from a vague description

I'm trying to remember a book I read a couple of years ago and I am very sketchy on the details.
I remember that it was set in winter and one of the main characters was a bloke who lived in some woods, he possibly had his daughter with him but seem to remember he was mourning someone (possibly his wife/daughter). At the beginning of the book he drives his truck into the local town to get supplies and talks to someone about not being able to make the drive soon because of the snow. Sometime later in the book there's a woman who is possibly pregnant and she's wearing a pink jumper at some point. I think her partner ends up being at a motel nearby but is possibly abusive?!
Does anyone know the title of the book (or books if I've got two confused!)

It sounds like The Shipping News.

The protagonist is the widowed father of two young girls. He is mourning the death of his horrible, abusive cheating wife. He moves to a remote spot on the East Coast - can’t remember exactly but somewhere like Newfoundland. Meets a lovely new woman (about whose jumper he is a bit obsessed), various traumas all round, eventual happy ending.

Wonderful book, beautifully written. One of my favourites.

I'm searching for an older book it was about a group of friends who meet on beach. They all have secrets from each other. I have vague memories of there being affairs and a yes room lol. I think the word moon may have been it title not sure. I think it was based on a masssachuetes beach town but not sure.

This is what the book is about...
historical fiction where southern belle must marry her beau quickly to cover her accidental pregnancy by his brother. It s in reconstruction era south. It covers 40yrs. The husband becomes abusive and an alcoholic. So she files for divorce and it went to supreme court bc back then women couldn t get a divorce if the husband didnt want it..
There was a huge fire near the end and the husband didnt want to give her divorce so he tried to keep her in thwre. They got out and ran to the river. The whole city was on fire
I know there is a plantation and a key on the cover but I can’t remember the name of it.. please help!

Centurion123, I'm late to this, but if you're still reading, I think your series might be the Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer. It doesn't all sound quite right (he starts off as a choral scholar I think?) but some of it definitely happens.

Hey guys, I’m looking for a book I read when I was a kid. It’s about a boy and I think he was staying in his parents or uncles house and one night he gets up and wanders around the house to find a door he’s never seen. He goes in and I think he finds a book there. I don’t remember. But having walked in the room sort of cursed him. He leaves and ends up going on a type of adventure. I think he goes on a boat and finds someone like a priest to help him but I think the priest dies but with a crucifix or a stake he resolves the curse. I think the book cover was like an arm with no skin or anything. Just the bone of an arm. I’ve been looking for this book for years. If you guys could help, please do.

Hey! I’m looking for a series of books and read back in 2014. It is about an orphaned by with bad grades. He does a test on a computer and wins. He goes to another world or dimesnsion I think. At the end he finds out that he is the missing prince. I’m pretty sure it the series starts with Q.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am trying to remember the name of this book. Its a indian romance book from the 1980's, 1990's. Its about this women who is kidnapped by an indian who ends up calling her Flame because of her red hair. I believe she either had visions or could see the future. (maybe she dreamed them) She became something to the tribe...I dont remember what. I know the description is sketchy. sorry

Im trying to remember a book I read back in 2007 when I was 11, so a kids chapter book I guess you could say. The story revolved around a girl who saw shadowy figures and if she tried to touch them the creature would cause her to bleed, but she was the only one who could see them. I also believe one if not both of her parents are doctors, and I remember a description given saying that her mom drove a mercedes and her dad drove a ferrari and I think neither of them had time for her. I think in the end she befriended the creatures I could be wrong though 😩 Help a girl out.please

I read a book years ago all I remember is the book follows a few characters the main one is a preacher who has the gift of site he falls in love with a woman I also remember one scene in the book where they are eating at a restaurant and could see "in the spirit" a nasty spirit on the waitress - the book is not historical but a sort of paranormal Christian romance

Hi everybody I was talking to my wife about a book I read a long time ago, I can remember what it was about but that's it my wife is a reader and she would like to read it if we can find out the title of the book.
So we are hoping you can maybe help us out , it was a sad story of a man's life as he grew up the pain , the confusion , the hatred , being outcast , as he was a woman trapped in a man's body.

I have been trying to remember the name of a series of children's books that I have read with my children and would like to read again.

It's about a young teenage lad whose parents run a washing machine shop in London and he thinks they go off on trade tours and conferences but really they belong to a Secret Society who can time travel normally using boats finding something called the continuum point or something. There's a girl called Annalise ? and a young lad with a parrot ? and one who likes to dress up in themed outfits. There is a bad society run by a brother and sister.
The lad has an aunt also in the Society who ends up in a relationship with one of the other people from the society - Capitain Julius?
The lads brother is dead but then they discover on their adventures that he may be being held prisoner.
The society headquarters is high up on a cliff. The person who runs it is a woman.
One of the adventures I remember them having is in China.
When they go off to time travel they need to swallow this liquid which makes you feel all upside down.
I think it's a series of 3 books maybe?

I need help finding a book. The main character was an artist who moved from a small town to a big city because she was seeing people she knew that has passed on. I think the first few pages was about a boy she saw even though she had attended his funeral a few days prior. He was trying to catch his mother's attention but she could not see him.
She started to sleepwalk and painted while she did(sleep painting).
Her love interest was the ex of the lady who owned the studio she displayed her works.

Name of book that It focuses on a murdering psychopath woman from childhood through to present day where she’s in hospital on a ward with 5/6 other women. They’re all connected separately to this woman and she’s tried in some way to kill them. The story starts with her as a little girl at home and her mum is making jam in the kitchen. She’s angry about something and ends up killing her mum with the boiling jam. Then the local vicar and his wife take her in and she kills him by mowing him down with his tractor in the middle of the night. Through life, she uses different names and identities. I think she’s sharing a flat with one of the women in hospital and she tries to kill her by tampering with all the lightbulbs so if she switches a light on everything will explode. It concentrates on each of the women in hospital and how this woman has tried to kill them. As they start to recover they all start talking and realize the woman in the end bed is the psychopath- she’s covered in bandages but I can’t remember why. There’s a court judgment that the police and doctors are trying to get to this woman sterilized because she’s far too dangerous to have any children.

The book has a blue cover and has an elephant on it and a girl feeding it buns. One of the stories is about this escaped elephant and the girl uses a trail of buns to lure it home. There is also another story about a boy who leaves his Scout meeting in the evening to go home but gets lost in the fog. Please help!
