Books you couldn't put down

Just read Then She Was Gone and found it really gripping - looking for a follow up read, so tell me, which books did you struggle to put down? Ideally looking for a thriller/mystery type

Kindle or print book? I read Extracted by R R Haywood and the follow up Executed. Really good books. I'd hesitate to say sci-if but there's an element of time travel - it's really well done though, not naff.

I just finished One Last Summer at Hideaway Bay in floods of tears. So good I read it in two days. Not a thriller though.

The Secret History.

The Kind Worth Killing and Her Every Fear, both by Peter Swanson.

Also, Dead Woman Walking by Sharon Bolton.

I've just read 'I see you now' by Clare Mackintosh in one day. Couldn't put it down!

The serial killers daughter, loved it - just downloaded his previous book

I would highly recommend the Blackhouse Trilogy (aka The Lewis Trilogy) by Peter May.

I've read all three twice and both times I was totally addicted. The second reading provided me with so much more than the first reading, and right now I'm considering a third reading in the very near future.

Last seen alive by Claire Douglas. I started reading it last night and finished about 1am I couldn't put it down.

The couple next door

I've just finished The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. It's a stand alone if you've read any of her other books.

The story line is shockingly brutal, very much like Karin's other books, but the love between two sisters is wonderful.

Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes.
Brilliant page turner......couldn't put it down!
Also anything by Sharon Bolton

The Stone Man by Luke Smitherd was an amazing read. I was feeling a bit jaded with fiction so much more of the same and then a friend recommended this book which was only an audio book. Now it's on kindle so I gave it a go and it was a phenomenal read.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.

Ive just read a great thriller - the girlfriend by michelle francis and thought it was great!

He Said She Said by Erin Kelly was good. Have just finished After I've Gone by Linda Green. Read in less than 24hrs! Fantastic book

Pp mentions Erin Kelly, I've read a few of hers (the poison tree, the ties that bind and the sick rose) and found them all gripping.

My all time favourite though- Rebecca , Daphne DuMaurier I remember reading it in the staff canteen (something I never do) as I literally could not put it down! Love it!

I See You by Clare Mackintosh. However, I've read that her other book is even better!

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

The Road is a real page turner, I agree.
William Boyd's brilliant too.

Just read 'A Manual for a Cleaning Woman' by Lucia Berlin. Collection of short stories. Funny and truthful; great writer.
