I have just finished The Handmaid's tale and was bkown away by the writing. Her style is beautiful.
I would like to read more by her, any other books I should try in particular?

I'm just starting Hag-Seed, which is a retelling of The Tempest. Review here. It looks great but different to her other stuff. It's part of that Shakespeare 'thing' by several well-known authors mentioned in the above Guardian feature. Jeanette Winterson did one on The Winter's Tale, also Anne Tyler and Tracy Chevalier have contributed. Looks like a rich seam of decent books to delve into, whether or not you're interested in the Shakespeare link. Must read The Handmaid's Tale again, too, though. It's been years. On a (slightly) related note, has anyone else read The Power, and what did you think?
