I'm in the process of splitting up with my partner and really need some funny books to make me laugh right now? Any suggestions for books that will make me weep with laughter? Fiction or non fiction fine.

Yes agree with David Sedaris.
Also loved Danny Wallace 'Yes man' and 'Join Me'.
I had to stop reading them on the train to work as I was just laughing too much. And then I went past a woman reading one of them at the station and she was laughing her head off too.

Working my way through Alexei Sayle second autobiography Thatcher stole my trousers. It's great.

Really pleased there are so many funny books out there i hadn't heard of. Thanks everyone for some great suggestions!

Anything by P.G.Wodehouse. I usually end up weeping with laughter.

Oscar Wilde's plays. Incredibly witty.

The Timewaster Letters by Robin Cooper. Side-splitting.

A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, and any other travel books of his

I really enjoyed Diary of a Provincial Lady - dry, light and witty.

Agree with PPs re Bill Bryson. I loved 'A Walk in the Woods'.

My all-time favourite book for laugh-out-loud humour is 'The Snapper' by Roddy Doyle.

The James Herriott books made me laugh, or Jeeves and Wooster.

Agree Bill Bryson and Janet Evanovich.
Also Gerald Durrell.
A book called The Origins of Findo Gask by David McCrieght made me snort with laughter.
The children's books by Andy Stanton about Mr Gum are very good.

In a similar vein to Bill Bryson Tony Hawks books are good - Round Ireland with a Fridge, One Hit Wonder and I think there are a couple more - all made me laugh out loud in inappropriate situations
