We gave away 50 copies of Marge and the Pirate Baby, a children's book with three hilarious tales of mayhem perfect for readers aged five to seven.

Marge is back! And this time there's a baby on the loose. Meet Zara, the naughty little cousin, who never sleeps and loves to steal treasure. Marge thinks she's a pirate and maybe she's right. But will the imaginative babysitter be on her best behaviour?

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their children's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win a free copy to take part in the discussion - if you've read Marge and the Pirate Baby anyway, you can post a review it on this thread.

Everyone who posts detailed feedback on the book by midday Tuesday 7 March will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

This giveaway is sponsored by Piccadilly Press

I read this with my 6 and 3 year old and they have become really fond of it. The story itself is funny and they love the drawings within it. It adds to the magic of what they are reading. I am so impressed with it and will definitely be looking for more Isla Fisher books in the future. These books are great for age 5-7 and gives them something enjoyable to read.
Thank you so much for our copy.

With my little one, a Pirate themed book is going to be a sure fire winner and this Book was an instant hit. Three wonderfully amusing stories that made us laugh out loud. Marge is a quirky, fun babysitter to the Button family and when baby cousin Zara comes to visit, Marge decides she is a pirate baby and tells the children that she herself used to be a Pirate Nanny and tells them tales of her times as a Pirate. The second story is a trip to the swimming pool which Marge turns into a great expedition, telling the children stories of how she used to be an explorer and shared her shampoo with Oscar the Orang Utan. The book is wrapped up by a final story about Uncle Desmond's wedding and what disasters may happen, like losing the rings or the wedding dress being covered in handprints. A great end to a wonderfully hilarious book. Beautifully illustrated and as a result we are now reading the first book of the series Marge in Charge.

Received the book thank you. My son started reading it straight away and didn't want to put it down. He loved it so much that he is starting to read it for a second time. As a mum I would say it is creative and imaginative. It is well written for children.

I think my grandsons would love this

I don't know who enjoyed this book more, me or my daughter. My daughter is now very upset as she's finished the series and just wants to find something similar. We read this at bedtime for a few weeks and soon ended on a high note! Marge is a brilliant character created by Isla and you cannot help but love her energy throughout the book. This book made my daughter laugh out loud many times and she loves Marge's rainbow hair, even asks me continuously if she can have the that hair colour too!

Drew really deep chuckles from both the 5 year old and her10 year old brother! They were chattering about it and making up new scenes over breakfast!

Marge is a mad babysitter! The only thing she has in common with Mary Poppins is a brolly! The kids love her wild tales and multi-coloured hair. No matter what scrapes they get into, Marge fixes everything! The children love her and so do their parents, only the parents never seem to witness any of her madcap antics....
This is a book kids will want to read over and over again, very funny-with great illustrations too! Also, instead of being a novel as I expected, it is actually made up of 3 wee short stories, which makes it ideal for young readers who may find the thought of an entire novel a bit daunting. Great fun!

Sounds an amazing book. I would like to read it.

My seven year old son seems a bit indifferent about this book. Overall I think he enjoyed it and he did say there were some funny parts that made him chuckle. It's a shame that this book wasn't for him as there seem to be lots of other glowing reviews here. Anyway, thanks once again for sending us a copy.

Such a great book! My daughter who usually doesn't like books without colourful pictures was listening to it so good! We both enjoyed reading it and our bedtimes took much longer than usual :)

sarsar123 · 05/03/2017 21:16

My 9 year old read this book independently. I really struggle to get him to read and brought it for him as it looked funny and easy to read with great pictures. He really enjoyed it, as it made him laugh. I was recommend this book!

Jocelynne123 · 05/03/2017 22:16

7 year old girl found it very entertaining. She laughed a lot and loved Marge. It wasn't a good book for bed time though. It was funny and exciting so didn't help with getting to sleep! Xx

clarabella12 · 05/03/2017 23:19

my 5 and 6 year old absolutely loved it, asked me to read it at every spare moment. can't wait to read more from the author.

Marge and The Pirate Baby is the second children's book by actress Isla Fisher about the escapades of Jemima and Jake along with their magical babysitter Marge. Aimed at a target age range of 5-7 year olds, the book is made up of 3 short stories - Marge the Pirate Nanny, Marge and the Stolen Treasure and Marge and the Wacky Wedding.

All 3 tales in this book are about Jemima and Jake's baby cousin Zara and the trouble she causes. Perfectly sized short stories, this was an enjoyable change for the kids to hear a whole story each night rather than a chapter which normally leads to a plea of just one more! The stories are also good for younger independent readers to attempt themselves .

Personally, I found the writing a bit too chirpy for me and I could not escape the vision in my head of Isla narrating this (sorry Isla!) but the kids found it very funny. It took mundane activities and turned them into something exciting and was exactly the type of story that the target age group thrive in but that older children still appreciate.
