Go on an adventure through Europe in a book where your child is the main character. We have 50 copies of these beautifully illustrated personalised books to give away - apply for yours now!

In the book, your child will be the heroine or hero of a great search across the continent for the letters of the alphabet. From picking tulips in the Netherlands to putting Swiss cuckoo clocks back together, The European Tour includes a host of challenges - resulting in a fun way for children to read and also discover more about Europe.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their children's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win a free copy to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read The European Tour can post their feedback here (and you can buy the book now).

Everyone who posts feedback on the book on this thread before 3 January will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

My 5 year old loves learning about other countries and he really liked the brightly coloured illustrations, and the character "Emma".

vonniebab2 · 26/11/2016 14:55

A really good read!

LOL! Yes found this book to be pretty funny with a number of funny jokes.
Love that the story can be personalised to the child too!

lindat100 · 01/12/2016 10:12

magical and educational

zombeana · 01/12/2016 12:11

that sounds like a wonderful idea, my daughter would get really into this!

pennwood · 02/12/2016 21:28

Lucky me! Just had an email to order my book & it was so easy to do. I chose the illustrated cover, (hardback or soft.) I chose the hardback as I think this book will be well read. A huge choice of languages, but I stuck with English. Then inserted the choice of name, boy or girl. I got an email the same day advising me of delivery by 9th December, so I am looking forward to getting my book very shortly, & I will review as quickly as I can.

grannybiker · 02/12/2016 21:36

We've got one as a Christmas present, so can't post feedback as such. However, the personalised book we had before was very well received.

clareycat · 03/12/2016 22:27

I love this idea, i'm always looking for ways to capture my little girl's imagination & she would absolutely love this!

blitzgirl · 05/12/2016 10:53

Thank you Mumsnet & zebrabooks! I received my copy of the European Tour this morning and it's fantastic! Dd is going to love it!! Such a beautifully produced book, full of pictures and new words to learn. I am over the moon with it and can not wait to read it with her tonight Smile

Nanalou · 05/12/2016 11:06

My little Grandson's copy arrived in the post this morning, and as he's being brought up bi-lingual I was able to order this in French. Our first impressions are the book is of good quality and we love the illustrations. Once my DIL has read the book I will post again concerning the storyline

LeighAO · 05/12/2016 16:48

We've just received our copy and it's a lovely book. It's great for any child with a real interest in words and/or languages as it gives them an opportunity to read words they wouldn't find in other books for their age group. It really stretches them whilst still being fun and having the added value of being personalised. I love the European element and I think it really encourages their sense of adventure and desire to travel. A lovely read.

britnay · 05/12/2016 19:39

We received our copy this morning. It is very good quality and you get a lot for your money.
My son loved the fact that it had his name and birthday, he found it very very exciting. We have only read a few pages together so far (it is quite long!), but we have enjoyed the story so far. Its been great for teaching him about other countries and their cultures.

henryscatoscar · 08/12/2016 10:57

we received our book as part of the mumsnet giveaway. You create your book via the companies online web tool. pretty simple stuff with a fair amount of options. our son is 7 so we picked European tour. There is enough text and interest in the book and it is of an excellent quality. You can also add in a dedication which is printed in the inside cover. Like some of these other name books, your childs name appears in parts of the text as you go along. European tour gives little stories and snippets about countries in a story book format ie not like an encyclopedia. One downside with the creation is it doesn't go proper full screen so you can't 100% assess that its ok for you. I picked the hard cover option which I assume is the most expensive. This came to £42 including delivery, I got it free due to mumsnet. I think this is quite expensive but as I said the end product is excellent quality

pennwood · 08/12/2016 22:38

The European Tour arrived & is a good quality hardback book. The dedication was printed very nicely & I am sure it will be a book to be treasured. It is lovely having it customised with name, birthday & even including the family dog. The illustrations are colourful, & the book educational, plus it explains any unusual words at the base of the pages. An alphabet poster was included with the book which relates to finding letters in different countries in the story. Thank you Mumsnet for giving me the opportunity of getting the book as it would have cost £42 to purchase including delivery. I would recommend the book as I consider it something special.

jameela1 · 10/12/2016 00:38

My daughter loved this book! It's very creative, fun, engaging. It teaches a lot and has a lot of additional information. Personalising is easy and quick, you can even add your own message in the beginning of the book. It's a book that child would treasure and something that will be read, reread and reread again.I definitely recommend it. It also makes a great gift.

Fantastic idea. What a great adventure and a great introduction to geography.

Gerjuice · 12/12/2016 13:54

Our book arrived and it's a beautifully illustrated book, worthy of being gifted to a special child. We won ours through Mumsnet, and using the online ordering system it was very quick and easy to put our preferences through and then it was dispatched rather quickly as well. The packaging was sturdy. I think it would be enjoyed by slightly older children - maybe 5+ due to the length of the story, and if it were possible to have two options of a shorter story for younger children, it would have been an option I would have selected due to the child in mind. Pleased with it all the same.

PokemonWanker · 15/12/2016 13:19

The emails went into spam so I've only just ordered mine. Thanks so much Mumsnet and Zebra Books, I'll post my review here when the book arrives.

CES82 · 18/12/2016 13:29

Beautiful book, really lovely quality - and such a great concept. Saving it as a present for DS (nearly 5), can't wait to see his reaction at having a book about him! Thanks Zebra Books.

Leahs1988 · 19/12/2016 12:40

Our book arrived last week and my DD was given it yesterday for her birthday. What a lovely book with so many different facts in it, love the personalised aspect and the illustrations are brilliant! Great quality and a wonderful idea thank you!

agnapoop · 19/12/2016 12:41

What a beautiful book. I haven't read it through with my children yet as it's for her xmas but read through it myself. It's beautifully illustrated and I'm sure she's going to love it. It would make a gorgeous new baby gift as well for the parents to read to the child. I love it.
