We're feeling festive and giving away 50 copies of this adorable Christmassy story plus Blue Kangaroo plush toy! You can apply for yours now.

It's Christmas Eve, and Lily is excitedly wondering if Father Christmas will come. She has made cards for everyone and put presents under the tree, including one for her beloved toy, Blue Kangaroo. But Blue Kangaroo hasn't got a gift for Lily - is there someone who can help?

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their children's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win a free copy to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read Merry Christmas, Blue Kangaroo! can post their feedback here (and you can buy the book now).

Everyone who posts feedback on the book on this thread before 27 December will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

This giveaway is sponsored by HarperCollins

We in my family love books written by Emma Chichester Clark, and we love the illustrations, they really bring the kangaroo to life Xmas Smile

humtum167 · 26/12/2016 14:21

So darling! The illustrations glow and emanate the magic of Christmas at home, doing special things together as a family.

I love how the little girl goes around saying for you blue kangaroo. It is so cute as I could picture my daughter doing this with her little kangaroo.

My daughter loved this brilliant, well-written book. She has a "pet" monkey who she adores and she could really relate to the Blue Kangaroo''s present dilemma.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this with my children. The story is not too long so kept my kids interested. They loved having a blue kangaroo of their own to sit with them.
I love the story, its magical and very Christmassy, perfect for Christmas Eve. I would highly recommend it for little ones

I have two DD’s 7 & 4 and we already like the Blue Kangaroo books by Emma Chichester Clark. So we were all really pleased to get a free copy of this one to read! We have a stack of Christmas themed books that we bring out in December and this will be a great addition. I would say my 4 year old liked the story more but they both loved the Blue Kangaroo toy and my 7 year old came up with a complicated arrangement for its sharing in the run up to Christmas.
I personally like ECC’s illustration style and feel it appeals to children in my DD’s age group. The story is simple, gentle and easy to understand and follow. The theme of the importance of a particular soft toy is a very relevant one in our house! I liked the reoccurrence of characters from other books e.g. the aunts and uncle. It was good that it promoted the idea of giving to others.
The book seems to be a re-issue of a previous format of the book from 2004.
