How wonderful

kerryv · 26/12/2016 11:28

My daughter really enjoyed reading it.

countingdown · 26/12/2016 11:32

Thank you for my copy, I really enjoyed reading it. I have put it to one side to read to my DC in a couple of years. I know they'll love it but just feel they're a bit young for it this year (7 and 8).

iut044 · 26/12/2016 12:16

A wonderful read really enjoying it .

amyhalliday1 · 26/12/2016 12:23

Really good read

juju3 · 26/12/2016 13:28

great book - enjoyed by all the family

mooota1514 · 26/12/2016 13:52

Thank you for our copy of this book. I have been reading it to DD1 (nearly 6). We have both enjoyed it. It has been fun to read and it's been lovely to share a Christmas-themed book in December. It's a book that I will keep for DD2, but probably for when she's slightly older. A good book.

Cailin7 · 26/12/2016 13:57

This is another great book by Matt Haig. We thought better enjoyed by 7 / 8 year old readers.

humtum167 · 26/12/2016 14:02

Well, with a name like Amelia Wishart what else are you going to do but save Christmas?
Full of warmth and charisma and certainly one to make any recipient’s Christmas a whole lot merrier.

cocochips · 26/12/2016 14:43

I love this book,

MillyVanilli222 · 26/12/2016 16:44

We loved reading this at home over Christmas - it's quite sad in places, but captivating and fantastically written!

vonniebab2 · 26/12/2016 16:45

An enjoyable book full of adventures with a lovely Christmas theme

rachelmi · 26/12/2016 16:57

A wonderful Christmas read for older children.

lindseystuart855 · 26/12/2016 18:01

This book is an absolute delight, after A Boy Named Christmas I wasn't sure if the magic could be created again but Matt Haig smashed it out of the park! Delightful, heartwarming fairy tale suffused with the joy and spirit of Christmas,
Young Amelia has an awful time after her mother dies and she is sent to the strictest workhouse in London and her hope is all but extinguished for a while. Meanwhile there are problems in Elfhelm and Father Christmas has his work cut our sorting them but when he and Amelia meet for the second time the magic truly begins and builds to an extremely happy ending

This was a brilliant book for independent readers, definitely a good one to read over the festive period to get us in the mood for Christmas. It was well written with characters who really come to life.

twinklenicci · 26/12/2016 22:28

Weve started reading this last week. My daughter is 3 but shes already totally engrossed in the story. She loves the elves and north pole and finding it really interesting

irishe · 27/12/2016 01:00

My daughter loves hearing about the elves at the North Pole.

mumpetuk1 · 27/12/2016 11:40

Loved it

mave · 27/12/2016 19:51

My 11 year old daughter loved the last book but thought this one was also fantastically amazing (her words!!!)

mo3733 · 27/12/2016 20:05

Its a fantastic story but i do concur that its for an older child of say ten or more because it deals with older issues.

claza93 · 27/12/2016 21:06

My bookworm received this on Christmas day and has already finished it! She loved it :)

LucToot · 28/12/2016 08:45

Thanks to Mumsnet for our free copy & Pre-xmas treat! My 8&6 year old loved reading this festive book even though we have a smart one that sussed FC to be a fake last year and now a non-believer! They read it aloud to each other on alternate evenings and fought sleep to try and finish it sooner... The illustrations were imaginative and detailed and the plot captivating. They now both want to read the prequel 'The boy who saved...' next Christmas!

cbruin111 · 28/12/2016 12:49

What a great story!

emmav6 · 28/12/2016 15:41

a storyline that children of all ages can enjoy, believe and keep the magic real

grannybiker · 28/12/2016 21:29

Like that the "Never give up" message was done with subtlety, but in a way that a child can easily understand
