I am reading Semidetatched by Griff Rhys Jones.

Very funny memoir. He is sopt on in his descriptions of all those ghastly teenage parties that I remember from my 'yoof'

A very funny book and I'd recoend it to all mumsnetters in their late 30s/40s. Or for younger MN to rad about what their parents got up to in the 60s and 70s!

An excellent read.

And you?

Home to Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani. I bought it on special offer a year ago but it's a sequel!! Found the first part of the 'saga' on Ebay so have finally read it.They were both easy to read - not page turners exactly, but good solid characters and plots.

The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber. Really enjoying it so far - would recommend it if you like Dickens as it's set in Victorian London (but obv from a modern standpoint). Also love The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen but certainly takes a bit of getting into - worth it, though.

just finished bel canto by anne pratchett....great book which is gently humourous, well observed and always surprising in it's twists and turns...best if you can read it on faith and not even read the back cover first

next is probably saving fish from drowning by amy tan....i have high hopes, i've loved all of her books
