Which author's books would you buy unreservedly, knowing that you will definitely enjoy ?
My choice would be Deborah Moggach.

Christopher Brookmyre for me. There has only been 1 book of his that I struggled with to start (Bedlam) but I love his Tartan Noir style.

For fantasy (which I do enjoy along with a bit of scifi)

Robin Hobb
The great Terry Pratchett (I know he has died but if you haven't read before then really worth a try)

I can't help but wonder if all the people mentioning Stephen King have read Rose Madder, Dreamcatcher or The Tommyknockers!

Also Sue Townsend and Douglas Adams but sadly we'll never have any more from them. Eoin Colfer's attempt just didn't do it for me.
