I'm happy that the new St Mary's book is out today. I love a good fantasy book, as reflected in my preorder list, which also has...

The Curse of Tenth Grave (A Charley Davidson novel, hence my username as I love these books) by Daryna Jones. An 11th book is also out in Jan.

And, much awaited, the new Kate Daniels book by Ilona Andrews, Magic Binds.

You lot got me intrigued about the StMary's chronicle. Is it Ok for a 12 year old? DD loves history and scifi

Which books are you awaiting with bated breath?
ExitPursuedByABear · 11/05/2016 10:46

Robin Hobb and the next (last) of the Fitz and the Fool Trilogy.

BagelGoesWalking · 11/05/2016 21:16

Thank you for all the St Mary's recommendations - I know I'll love them and I'd never heard of them before. I've just ordered the first 4 books from the library Grin

CharleyDavidson · 11/05/2016 22:01

Enjoy, Bagel. I'm rereading from the beginning. I love her style and the humour in them. :)

ImperialBlether - what's your book? I have no idea who you are or what it's about but I MUST have it! Hmm Grin

BelleDeVille · 13/05/2016 10:18

the mandibles by Lionel Shriver.
Out yesterday :)

GrouchingTiggerHiddenSomething · 13/05/2016 22:08

The new Guy Gavriel Kay book - Children of Earth and Sky - arrived yesterday but I haven't yet finished my library book (Clariel by Garth Nix).

Also looking forward to the Robin Hobb (next year?) and been waiting what feels like forever for the next GRRM - think we'll be waiting a while.

GrouchingTiggerHiddenSomething · 13/05/2016 22:10

Oh and I would also love Patrick Rothfuss to finish writing his next book - been waiting a while for that one too!

LifeHuh · 14/05/2016 21:14

I love the Chronicles of St Mary's though I am listening on Audible rather than reading. They are just getting better and better, the last one managed to have me in fits of hysterical laughter, and tears ( though not at the same time...)

I have just discovered that Liane Moriaty has a new book coming out in July so I'm waiting on that, and the next in the October Daye series.(urban fantasy)

Propolis · 15/05/2016 21:25

Just realised I misread Amazon page, the new Rivers of London book "The Hanging Tree" is out on May 11th 2017 not 2016! Does anyone know wtf is going on?

MermaidofZennor · 15/05/2016 22:33

It has crossed my mind that maybe Ben Aaronovitch isn't well, or perhaps is just really struggling with the writing. Whatever the reason, I wish him well and look forward to the new novel when it's ready :)

MermaidofZennor · 15/05/2016 22:45

Just had a look on Amazon and it's saying publication date is 25th August 2016 and is available for pre-order.

BestIsWest · 16/05/2016 05:56

Anyone ever read Freeman Wills Croft? His Hog's Back Mystery is 99p on Kindle Daily Deal. Is it worth a read?

BestIsWest · 16/05/2016 05:58

Gah, wrong thread, that was written in 1933

JanTheJam · 16/05/2016 06:03

Eeeeeeee! Finally someone on MN who is reading the Ilona Andrews books Charley

I can't bloody wait. Also book 2 in the burn for me series. There is a delay though as all the books are being re branded after the fucking woeful cover images.

Also whatever is next in the Mercy Thompson series. Agh, so good.

And the next Immortals after dark.

And the Justin Cronin. So good as an audio book.

deathtoheadlice · 16/05/2016 06:10

The new colour book by Jasper Fforde!

KatsutheClockworkOctopus · 18/05/2016 22:36

I've preordered the new Tim Moore book. Some of his stuff makes me laugh out loud.
I was pleased to see a new Invisible Library novel will be out in December too.

CharleyDavidson · 19/05/2016 23:29

I bloody love the Kate Daniels books by Ilona Andrews, Janthejam. :)

Also their Innkeeper series. Trying to read their installments of the chapters that they put up on fb on Fridays but I can't really get into it that way so am waiting for book three to be done and published instead.
