From Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks - creators of What The Ladybird Heard - comes Princess Mirror-Belle And The Dragon Pox, the exciting adventures of a princess with a difference.
Ellen gets a big shock when her double appears out of the bathroom mirror - a princess, and a very mischievous one at that. Join the magically mischievous Mirror-Belle as she jumps out of Ellen's mirror and sweeps her into a variety of hilarious escapades, from battling with Dragon Pox to helping out with the local pantomime.

We were lucky enough to receive a free copy of this book and my just-turned six DD was very excited. She liked the book, although not as much as the Princess and the Wizard. I think the book lacked Julia Donaldson's usual rhyme and wit. My DD usually reads books again and again, but has not reached for this one a second time yet. It is a nice book however, and I can imagine it would be good for a little girl with chickenpox!

My four and seven year old daughters both sat happily whilst reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it- I think more so as one of them has had chicken pox this year! They were both eager to find out what happened next with princess mirror-belle

My 5 year old daughter loved this book, especially the twist at the end with the sllpper. It was an original story made all the more fun for the glitter. Perfect for any little princess! Thanks Mumsnet for choosing us to review it, we both loved it.

Bpth children have read the book - DS8 and DD 11 - obviously a bit too young for DD, but she did laugh and find it fun. DS really liked it and has gone back to it a few times. Anything to do with spots is endlessly fascinating. Glitter really nice and makes it stand out. They also are both fascinated by stories with mirrors and stories where it is ambiguous whether things really happen as shown or if it is imagination. Recommended.

I agree with some posts that it was a shame it did not rhyme. Maybe I was just expecting it to as its Julia Donaldson. Artwork was lovely, cant read it with baby as too much glitter, also bit longer than the other books I read to my 3 and 4 year old, but sure it will be a favourite as they get older.

No poetry in the book, how disappointing. ,otherwise a still effective book by julia donaldson. Enjoyed by the family . Carry on the good work.

My DD enjoyed this book especially all the glitter! The story was ok but I think we both missed the rhyming we have come to love and associate with Julia's books. Nevertheless, it went down well in our house so thanks for giving us a copy Mumsnet!

She loved this book - it's become a favourite for DD (4). She loves the glitter and the mess caused in the story. Plus we had recently had chickenpox so she thought it was really funny.

It's not one of my personal favourites but one that I don't mind reading.

My grandson was delighted to receive this book sent to me from the prize draw- thank you. He loves sparkly things and enjoyed feeling the texture of the glitter. It helped him sit in one spot whilst listening to the lengthy and delightful story. It was lovely to hear him laugh too.

This is a very sweet story; it doesn??t rhyme like other Donaldson books, but is has more of a fairytale plot. It is clearly marketed towards girls; very pink and with ??glitter on every page!??
