Literary shame is a powerful thing - if you've ever nodded sagely while your friends discussed Bleak House or chuckled knowingly about the The Wizard of Oz - the film is the same thing isn’t it? – you'll know what we're talking about. But now we're giving you the chance to 'fess up! Tell us which Puffin Classic you have never actually read, and you'll be in the running to win the entire set.

The Puffin Classics are back, and with a bold new look – twenty brand new covers for the classic tales, from Huck to Dorothy to Alice to Peter. One lucky poster will receive all twenty, while 5 randomly-selected runners-up will win a copy of their never-read tale.

Here's the full set list:
The Call of the Wild, Tom Sawyer, The Wizard of Oz, King Arthur, The Jungle Book, Black Beauty, Huckleberry Finn, Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, The Odyssey, A Little Princess, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, The Wind in the Willows, Treasure Island, Heidi, Peter Pan, Little Women, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

This competition is now closed. And the winners are:

Belo - full set of Puffin Classics
happysouls - The Call Of The Wild
Punkatheart -Heidi
Miisty - Tom Sawyer
Pigeonpea - Huckleberry Finn
kohl - Wind In The Willows

Thanks for all your contributions, we'll be in touch with the winners shortly

Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
And several of the others I read at school and couldn't really tell you anything about them now.
And I'm an English teacher. Shameful!

ooops I've only read a small handful of those but have definately claimed at some point or other that I've read them all! Maybe because the stories are timeless, I think I know most of the main gist of them for sure...

I read a lot and adore reading but I'm definately guilty of doing those "how many of these books have you read" quizes and ticking a ton that I actually haven't read

Any excuse for more books though ;)

Most to be honest but winning this would change that!

Read some as a child and more as a mum, now I'm about to parent two little ones due to unforseen circumstances do need to start over having passed on all our chldrens stuff some time ago. My plan was to be a free spirit and travel in my latter years, now I'll just put that on hold . So any of these would suit me thanks. Not read any as a guardian or gran

I have probably read about half of the "Classics" listed. However, I have always enjoyed reading, and always have a book on the go - could live without TV but not books. It's just that I don't necessarily like the classics but prefer other books.

i've read them all, my mother was keen for us all to be well read and we visited the library once a week.
