To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, we're giving away 50 copies of Looking-Glass Girl - tween author Cathy Cassidy's modern day re-imagining of the classic story, as well as 50 copies of the Lewis Carroll original, republished by Puffin this month with a beautiful new design.

Favourite character would have to be the Mock turtle. I memorised his song when I was a child. I always thought he was rather cute. Strange I know.

This book is amazing! It is so wonderful and I don't want to put it down. I think my favourite part is the sleepover because it's got a wonderland theme. I am 9 and I reccomend it for 8-14 year olds. Thanks! (smile)

Wonderful story which girls will be able to relate to, cleverly interwoven with the Alice in Wonderland story we know and love.

My 11 year old is really enjoying this book, although she has not read the original yet, just seen the film. She said it is a good story with lots to keep her interested and that it would make a great film.

Thanks for our copies. We are reading Alice in Wonderland at present, then moving on to Looking Glass Girl.

What a trip down memory lane for me. The rich language and fabulous nonsense in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland are wonderful. We loved the silly verses, and repeated them several times. There were opportunities to explain what sixpence, tuppence, shillings, and a hookah were. We are going to begin The Looking Glass Girl straight away to see how a modern novelist compares to Lewis Carroll.

We still have our childhood copy of Alice - I'd love to go on a picnic with that gorgeous hamper and spend the day reading it to the children and drinking tea.
