We used to think that erratic teenage behaviour was due to a sudden surge in hormones, but modern neuroscience shows us that this isn't true.

Part self-help and part new science The Teenage Brain unveils new insight into the adolescent mind and advice on how best to parent through this tumultuous period.

We've got 50 copies of The Teenage Brain to giveaway this week, click here to find out more and apply for a free copy.

Don't forget, if you're lucky enough to receive a copy of The Teenage Brain we do ask that you tell us what you think about it on the thread below or write a review here.

AdoraBell · 05/02/2015 14:51

I have no UK address but I'll be buying this book ASAP.

So far my 13 yr olds are still semi reasonable, so far.

ThePerUnaBomber · 05/02/2015 18:04

Thanks, have applied! 15, 12 year old DSDs and a 4.5yo DS... Laugh a minute right now! (Either that or weep!)

supersupersupershock · 05/02/2015 18:10

DS turns 13 in a few months... and it's already kicking in. Fingers crossed to get a copy!

goshdarnit · 05/02/2015 21:03

I need a book to explain why my two complain that its too cold inside my perfectly warm house and then decline to wear coats, hats scarves etc, etc when going out...
off to apply now! Grin

Haffdonga · 05/02/2015 21:10

This book sounds fascinating. If it can help me deal with (survive?) 2 highly stroppy hormonal man-babies, all the better.

supermodel · 05/02/2015 22:18

Have applied. Fingers crossed.

MaggieMcVitie · 05/02/2015 23:00

Done!

ChippingInGluggingOn · 05/02/2015 23:46

Teenage brains are fascinating, I'd love to read it.

I have applied. I am hoping it will explain a lot…! Look very interesting

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 06/02/2015 09:11

I've applied - I love all that brain sciencey stuff and the Nicola Morgan 'Blame my brain' book was a good start but this looks like it goes into it a bit more deeply.

As a writer of historical young adult fiction I am very interested in which aspects of teenage behaviour are culturally determined and which are innate.

ssd · 06/02/2015 09:13

x'ing fingers for this

spongebobsparepants · 06/02/2015 09:23

Ooh blimey, this could really help. Here, it's not so much the ill temper and grunting that I'm finding er...challenging Hmm it's more the weird anxieties that erupt out of nowhere.

Especially about health. The slightest twinge and she's got the Big C. Most recently it's been a touch of gastric reflux that's generated the tears. So, whoever put an ad on TV last night about heartburn maybe being an indicator of stomach cancer - a big thanks to you! Angry

prettybird · 06/02/2015 20:34

As a mum to a 14 year old ds, who is apparently a delight at school but totally unpredictable at home, I'd love to understand why one minute he's kissing me goodnight, the next minute he's whinging that I supposedly don't like his Muslim friends when all I'd done is ask why the group he was doing a DoE day trip with was different to the one he did the navigation exercise withConfused

I'm currently reading "Get out of my life but first take me and Alex into town" (and I found out today that dh has also been reading it) and have "How to talk to teenagers so they will listen and listen so they will talk" on my bedside table for my next read. Wink

pourmeanotherglass · 06/02/2015 21:30

I've got a 12 year old and a 10 year old, so a good time to prepare myself for what is to come.

5madthings · 06/02/2015 22:51

Also applied, I need this!

imjustahead · 07/02/2015 01:20
