Not really fairy tales but we 3little pig and 3 billy goats gruff for ds3's birthday and he LOVES them.

I had quite a mission finding them so I'd like to know where to find more.

both are lift the flap book and have really lovely pictures.

There always seem to be a selection of lovely ones on the gift books shelf in the children's section of waterstones or the like.

Or you could look for a lovely Folio Society edition on ebay maybe?

Do you want them in individual little books as part of a boxed set kind of thing?

Or do you want an anthology?

If latter, the Hutchinson treasury series (Fairy Tales one here + cross-refs to other ones ) are keepers. Illustrations are especially good - lots of different (including very well-known) artists.

Boxed sets of mini-book things tend to be a bit more whimsical and disposable (IME) (stock in trade of the horrible Books-for-Children rip-off "club") so can't recommend anything there.

I think older Ds's would prefer that TBH, certainly here anyway.
The ones I got Ds3 are one story per book too.

well there you go - Hutchinson it has to be. Also done in nice "growing up" order w/ things like Chicken Licken at the beginning and then scary adolescent stuff like the Snow Queen at the end.

Yes, it's great, and this has reminded me to get it out again, as we're obviously onto the next Stage of Stories (ds 7 dd nearly 6 & I am now very lazy about reading to them)
