We just got the book on Saturday - its a lovely board book, with sweet (and different) illustrations. DS3 (who is nearly 11 months) enjoyed turning the pages - and turned back to look at some of his favourite pictures - and I liked it showed an older and younger child. DS2 (who is 5) liked it too.

Still no sign of it here Sad

I got the book and realised it was to young for dd2, so I gave it to the 2 year olds at work.

They have really enjoyed listening to it, and the board book is strong enough to last lots of children looking at it repeatedly, sometimes board books aren't.

The pictures are lovely and the book flowed well when reading it.

I received my copy today. It is a delightful book, with rhyming sentences (my favourite!) and lovely illustrations. My daughter hasn't put it down since I gave it to her an hour ago. We read it together then she 'read' it to her teddies.

My 2 youngest loved this book! the rhyming of the book is beautiful and the illustrations are lovely, it really makes it a joy to read.

This is nice sturdy board book which should last longer than the others my son has managed to pull apart. The rhyming story is lovely with sweet pictures alongside. The same story told from different viewpoints without being confusing. A lovely book!

Got it yesterday. Really lovely book, although my DD is too young for it-she's loving chewing it!! I think she'll love it when she's a little older.

yummum120 · 06/06/2014 09:18

Thank you finally got my book. I think this is a lovely book for lots of different ages. Theres lots to explore and talk about in the book and It encourages children to become vocal and use their imaginations.

A lovely book. My 3 year old and 7 year old enjoyed listening to it. I loved the illustrations and think this would make a lovely keepsake book or gift.

sallyc06 I have an Alexander too! :D

I agree with everything that has been said already. 'My Mummy Says' is a cute little book with lovely illustrations and a great rhyming story! My son, who rarely sits still, listened while I read and I've caught him quietly looking at the pictures by himself! A great book!

Lovely illustrations. The book is a bit young for my DS, just turned 4, but the repetitive text did help with him 'reading' it himself. Probably more suitable for a 2 yr old, there is not much in the way of plot!

nerysw · 09/06/2014 15:27

I read this with my kids and they like the illustrations and the rhymes. It's cute and the children both said 'that's like us' a lot as the mummy's say things we can all relate to (I forget umbrellas quite often too). It's one of those books that ends up being a lot more than the simple story and the kids enjoyed making up more details about what was happening and what the characters were doing.

This is a lovely board book with sweet illustrations. A simple story about different people making friends. A perfect book for DGD2.

I ( joymaker ) was sent a copy of this free book a week ago and first read it to both my just turned 4 yo and soon to be 2 yo DS at bedtime. They both loved it. I had to read it to them a few times in fact -the text is short and sweet- and since then it has been requested many times.

DS1 also picks it to read to DS2 a lot. They love the subject matter and can identify with it as they are taken to the beach frequently. They love the illustration and both always have chuckle at the picture where the umbrella appears to be blowing away.

The book is really good quality (wipeable pages and lovely padded feel to the cover) and a nice size for little hands. Agree with Liana83 that it would make a lovely keepsake book. I would in future definitely consider this as part of a young child's gift.

Finally discovered where to post review, sorry it's a bit slow. This is a lovely little book. Sweet drawings full of character. My favourite bit is the last couple of pages where the mums tell their children how much they enjoyed spending the day with them. Melted my heart. Thank you for giving us this book.
