The book you return to again and again. I have just finished reading three new quite heavy books and fancy re reading something that I've enjoyed before so hoping to pick your collective brains

Bryson's Notes from a Small Island never fails to make me shake with mirth. Can get me out of any funk!

I love to read "This book will save your life" by A.M. Holmes, also known in my house as 'the donut book' because of its yummy front cover. I read it whenever I'm down and it always soothes me. It reminds me that if life isn't going as you want it to, you have the power to change it.

How could I have forgotten Armistead Maupin's 'Tales Of The City'?

Wonderful tight and gossipy writing full of warmth. San Fran in the 70's onwards...

Jennifer Cruise - welcome to temptation - I don't know why, but I can re read it endlessly
Possession - AS Byatt - lots of books within books and a comforting love story too !
